Description
Lala Satalin Deviluke is the first princess of Deviluke, daughter of King Gid Lucion Deviluke and Queen Sephie Michaela Deviluke, with younger twin sisters Nana Astar Deviluke and Momo Belia Deviluke. Her sheltered royal childhood involved limited parental interaction, companionship with robots and the shapeshifting alien Run/Ren, fostering a cheerful personality and inventive streak. Fleeing her father's arranged marriages, she accidentally teleported naked into Earth high school student Rito Yuuki's bathtub. Initially feigning romantic feelings for Rito to avoid returning home, she genuinely fell in love after misinterpreting his self-defense statement as a heartfelt confession.

She possesses long pink hair, emerald green eyes, and a curvaceous figure (B89-W57-H87). A distinctive devil-like tail with a heart-shaped tip extends from her back; this sensitive appendage emits destructive laser beams and weakens her when touched. Her clothing is typically generated by Peke, a shape-shifting robot companion she invented that functions as both a hair accessory and wearable dress form. When Peke lacks energy, she wears Earth-made clothing. Due to her royal upbringing and reliance on maids, she shows no inherent modesty, leading to frequent nudity after bathing or during sleep, though she gradually adapts to Earth customs.

Lala combines extreme enthusiasm, childish impulsiveness, and naivety about Earth culture, often causing dangerous misunderstandings or comical accidents. Despite this, she exhibits a genius-level intellect for inventing advanced, toy-like devices, though they frequently malfunction and create unintended perverse situations. Inherently kind, optimistic, and compassionate, she strives to make others happy. While generally cheerful, she displays emotional maturity in serious contexts, becoming genuinely angry if Rito dismisses her feelings or supporting rival Haruna Sairenji's romantic interest in Rito. She advocates for a polygamous arrangement where Rito could marry multiple girls, including herself and Haruna, should he become King of Deviluke.

As a Devilukian-Charmian hybrid, she wields superhuman strength, speed, durability, and an enhanced metabolism preventing weight gain. Her physical prowess allows shockwaves from punches and withstands extreme forces like intensely spicy food. Her inventions range from practical teleporters to whimsical gadgets, with unreliability a recurring issue. In "To Love-Ru Darkness," overexerting her tail's power during a battle against Golden Darkness caused a temporary transformation into a childlike state before gradual reversion.

Her relationship with Rito evolves from a faux engagement to deep mutual affection, though he remains indecisive between her and Haruna. In "Darkness," she consciously reduces physical clinginess to allow space for Haruna's relationship with Rito. She also supports her sister Momo's "Harem Plan" to formalize Rito's relationships with multiple girls. Despite initial childishness, she exhibits growth by seeking mature expressions of love, like attempting to kiss Rito, and showing awareness of emotional complexities, such as guilt when her inventions cause him distress.

She shares a close, protective bond with her sisters, often using inventions to mediate childhood squabbles. Fond memories include her father rescuing her during a childhood incident, contrasting with her mother's frequent absence. Her empathetic nature is evident in comforting Haruna during emotional moments or building friendships despite rivalries, like Saki Tenjoin's one-sided envy of her popularity.
