Dawn captured this Pachirisu early in her Pokémon Coordinator journey, drawn to its cute appearance during a wild encounter. After a battle involving Piplup and Buneary, she succeeded. Pachirisu displayed extreme hyperactivity and disobedience, frequently ignoring commands and indiscriminately using Discharge, often shocking Dawn and others. This led Dawn to release it, believing she couldn't handle its energy. Upon reconsidering, she attempted recapture but faced interference from Team Rocket, who also sought it. Pachirisu ultimately chose to return to Dawn, allowing itself to be recaptured after pretending to cooperate with Team Rocket to obtain an antidote for a sticky substance they used on the group. Its personality is characterized by high energy and mischievousness, often playfully using Discharge to mess up Dawn's hair. Over time, Pachirisu became more cooperative and responsive to commands, though retaining its spirited nature. It developed a strong fondness for Poffins, throwing tantrums if one was destroyed. Pachirisu learned combination moves like Ice Chandelier with Buneary (combining Ice Beam and Discharge) and Super Fang to counter specific threats, such as Ursula's Gabite after it crushed a Poffin. In contests, Pachirisu contributed significantly. It participated in appeal rounds in locations like Floaroma Town and Hearthome City, showcasing agility and electrical moves. During the Grand Festival, Pachirisu and Mamoswine defeated Ursula's Gabite and Flareon using Ice Chandelier, securing Dawn's advancement to the finals, marking it as a reliable contest partner despite early difficulties. Pachirisu reappeared in later series during Dawn's travels. In Unova, it interacted with Ash's Oshawott, playfully kicking away its scalchop. It also appeared in the Journeys series, specifically in episode PJ089. An Electric-type Pokémon, Pachirisu knows moves including Discharge, Spark, Super Fang, and Sweet Kiss. It does not evolve, possessing the abilities Pickup and Run Away. Physically, it resembles a blue-and-white squirrel with yellow cheek sacs for storing electricity, using its tail to discharge stored energy. Pachirisu was the first Electric-type Pokémon obtained by a main character since Ash received Pikachu and the first Pokémon to be released and then rejoined a main character's team permanently.
