TV-Series
Description
Hikari's Pachirisu is the third Pokémon obtained by the Coordinator from the Sinnoh region, captured in the episode "Twice Smitten, Once Shy!" on Route 203. This Electric-type Pokémon is best characterized by its extremely hyperactive, playful, and mischievous nature, a personality that initially proved challenging for its trainer to manage. Its fondness for Poffins is a defining trait, often using cute antics to try and acquire more, and the destruction of one such treat can provoke an intense reaction.

The story of its capture is notably turbulent. After successfully catching it, Hikari struggled to control Pachirisu’s wild behavior, leading her to believe she was an inadequate trainer and briefly releasing it back into the wild. She quickly regretted this decision and returned to find that Team Rocket's Jessie had also set her sights on the Electric-type. In a display of its hidden cleverness, Pachirisu pretended to side with Team Rocket solely to steal an antidote spray from them to free Hikari and her friends from a trap. After helping to defeat the villains with a powerful Discharge attack, Hikari recaptured Pachirisu, solidifying their partnership.

Early in their journey, Pachirisu had difficulty controlling its electricity, frequently shocking its trainer and messing up her hair, often with the move Spark or Discharge. Through training with Hikari and guidance from Ash's Pikachu, it gradually learned to wield its powers more effectively. Its primary motivation evolved from simple fun to becoming a reliable partner in Hikari's goal of becoming a Top Coordinator. Initially suffering from stage fright during a Contest performance, it gained confidence and went on to participate in numerous important competitions. A significant turning point in its development occurred when Ursula's Gabite stepped on a Poffin it was about to eat. This act of disrespect enraged Pachirisu, causing it to learn the move Super Fang on the spot and sparking a rivalry between the two Pokémon. It later used this new move to defeat the same Gabite in the finals of the Chocovine Town Contest, securing Hikari's fourth Contest Ribbon.

Pachirisu shares a close, positive relationship with its trainer and Hikari's other Pokémon. It participated in the Sinnoh Grand Festival, where it teamed up with Mamoswine against Ursula and created a unique combination technique called the "Ice Chandelier" with Buneary, merging Discharge with Ice Beam. It also formed a notable strategic friendship with Ash's Pikachu, learning from it how to better store and release electrical energy. Beyond its signature Discharge and Super Fang, Pachirisu's notable repertoire includes Spark, Sweet Kiss, and a resilient fighting style that uses its tail as a shield or a conductor for electricity. Its journey continued after the Sinnoh region, traveling with Hikari to Unova where it greeted Ash's Oshawott with typical energetic curiosity, and it has made subsequent appearances in later anime series.
