Description
Baron Abel bears the burden of Kazan's curse from childhood, which demonically possessed his left arm. This grants unnatural strength but risks complete corruption. Bandages and seals contain the spreading affliction. Ostracized by his village over the curse, he nearly succumbed to despair until discovering a greatsword inhabited by Roxy, the spirit of a slain dark elf Slayer. Roxy became his mentor in demonic swordsmanship and emotional anchor, igniting his quest across Arad for a cure.
He possesses spiky blonde hair, red eyes, and favors practical attire: an open shirt, boots, and a headband. Baron alone can see and hear Roxy within the greatsword he wields. Initially solitary, his journey transforms him into a unifying leader. He forges the "Party," binding together the gunner and mechanic Capensis, the fighter Ryunmei, the elven mage Ixia, and occasionally the priest Jedah, despite their differences, through his dependable and direct nature.
Baron's personality mixes optimism with impulsiveness. Sociable and resilient, he avoids dwelling on his curse, focusing on action. However, passion often drives him to rash decisions, like charging headlong into danger. This fuels his opposition to antagonists like Irbek, whose cruel methods of curse research involving innocents clash with Baron's moral code against unnecessary harm, defining key conflicts.
His development traces a path from isolation to leadership, learning reliance on others while accepting responsibility for the Party. His bond with Roxy evolves from dependence to mutual reliance; her guidance aids him in combat and the emotional struggles of his curse. A pivotal sacrifice sees him forfeit his own cure to save Stella, a similarly afflicted girl, prioritizing others' safety over personal salvation. He continues traveling with his Party, seeking alternative cures and embracing a journey of adventure and protection across Arad. His signature battle cry, "Party Call!", embodies his role as the team's rallying force.
