Matsuri Sakuragi, an eleven-year-old elementary school student in the series, is a shy and timid girl who often struggles with anxiety. She wears glasses and has a slender, delicate build, with large beige eyes and gray hair in the anime or white hair in the manga. Her personality makes it difficult for her to stand up for herself, and she is heavily dependent on others, especially when dealing with the mischievous Miu Matsuoka, who frequently teases her. Matsuri’s easily flustered reactions make her a frequent target of Miu’s pranks, often causing her to cry or seek refuge behind the older Nobue Itou. Despite her nervous disposition, she is kind and caring, forming a particularly close bond with Ana Coppola. When she discovers that Ana has forgotten how to speak English, Matsuri takes it upon herself to study the language in order to help her friend.
