Description
Menace is a fictional character known as the Ancient Princess, a resurrected noble from the fallen kingdom of Amara, a realm with motifs inspired by ancient Egypt. Her history is rooted in tragedy; she was the heir to the throne until she was betrayed by her most trusted adviser and mentor, Anarista. This betrayal led to the destruction of her kingdom and her own death, as she was thrown into the slave quarters of her palace where she perished. Thousands of years later, she was brought back to life by the powerful Swamp Witch, who intended to use her as a minion in her schemes. However, due to her strong royal pride, Menace refused to be a mere servant and broke free from the witch’s direct control, choosing instead to pursue her own goal.

Personality-wise, Menace is defined by her domineering and aristocratic demeanor. She has a deep-seated preference for a life of luxury and expects to be pampered, often receiving oil massages from her servants. Despite her gentle and sometimes playful nature, she is highly manipulative and uses her charm and authority to get what she wants. Her primary motivation is singular and all-consuming: to restore the fallen Amara Kingdom to its former glory. She seeks followers to do her bidding and is determined to recreate her lost kingdom, viewing the Queen's Blade tournament as a means to gain the power and influence necessary for this revival.

In the story of Queen's Blade: Beautiful Warriors, Menace has achieved a version of her dream. Sometime after the main tournament, she successfully rebuilds the Amara Kingdom, though it is with a very small population of just ninety-eight citizens. She rules this new kingdom as its queen, enjoying the luxurious life she has always desired. Her role in this narrative centers on her defiance of her creator. When the Swamp Witch’s other servants, Airi and Melona, arrive to order her to return to the witch’s side, Menace firmly refuses. Her living scepter, Setora, argues that her debt for being resurrected has already been paid using the treasures of Amara. This leads to a conflict that ultimately destroys her royal palace, but Menace remains steadfast in her refusal to be controlled, and the other servants eventually leave without her.

Key relationships define her journey. Her most important companion is Setora, a chatty, mischievous, and remarkably perverted living scepter that she wields as a weapon. Setora is fiercely loyal and acts as her adviser and partner. In the past, she shared a close, sisterly bond with her mentor Anarista, whose betrayal remains the central trauma of her life. Her relationship with the Swamp Witch is one of unwilling servitude and eventual rejection, as Menace consistently prioritizes her own ambitions over being a pawn. Throughout the series, Menace undergoes subtle development. While she retains her love for luxury and her domineering personality, becoming queen softens her perspective, as she begins to thoughtfully consider the ideal way to manage her country and care for her people, whom she grows to love genuinely.

Menace possesses several notable abilities, many of which are a result of her resurrection by the Swamp Witch, which granted her powerful sorcery. She is a master of martial arts techniques passed down by her royal family. Her physical strikes, such as the Cursed Slap, are infused with a cursed aura that can drain an opponent's life force with a single touch. For mid-range combat, she uses the bandages or cloth wrapped around her arms and waist to launch forward and constrict her enemies. Her signature weapon is the living scepter Setora, which she uses as a mace; in one technique called the Royal Family's Martial Arts, Setora swallows the opponent, and then Menace attacks the scepter itself, causing it to spit the enemy back out.
