Description
Aladino is an impoverished yet street-smart youth surviving by pilfering goods alongside a gang of friends in an unspecified Arabian desert city. His life of hardship hones his resourcefulness. A pivotal encounter occurs when an evil wizard recruits him, promising riches in exchange for retrieving a lamp from a desert cave. Aladino locates the lamp within a hall of a thousand lights but, growing suspicious upon his return, refuses to relinquish it. The enraged wizard seals him inside the cave. Trapped, Aladino uses a magic ring provided by the wizard, summoning a genie who facilitates his escape. During his desert journey home, he adopts a jerboa.

Back home, Aladino discovers the lamp contains a far more powerful genie. His first wish conjures a lavish meal for himself and his mother. Selling the golden dinnerware later leads to a chance meeting with Princess Badral, hiding from the unwanted advances of the Grand Wazir's son. They connect during time spent together in the town before she is escorted away, solidifying Aladino's determination to marry her.

Using the lamp's genie, Aladino transforms into a wealthy prince and requests Badral's hand from the Sultan. Bound by a prior promise to the Grand Wazir's son, the Sultan declares a dowry competition. Aladino easily wins with the genie's aid, while the Grand Wazir and his son are arrested for stolen wealth. After marrying Badral, Aladino wishes for a grand palace.

Conflict erupts when the wizard deceives Aladino's mother and Badral into trading the magic lamp for a new one. The wizard uses the lamp to transport the palace and its inhabitants to his African castle. The Sultan gives Aladino three days to rescue Badral, threatening his friends with execution. Stranded in the desert after losing his camel, Aladino summons the ring's genie. Unable to directly reverse the lamp's magic, this genie transports Aladino to the palace, destroying the ring in the process. Reunited with Badral, they defeat the wizard and use the reclaimed lamp to undo his wish. The narrative concludes with Aladino and Badral sealing the lamp in a locked chest and discarding the key, rejecting further magic in favor of self-reliance.
