TV-Series
Description
Chi is a small grey and white American Shorthair kitten with distinctive black stripes and large, expressive eyes. Separated from her mother and siblings during an outdoor walk, she was discovered by young Yohei Yamada and his mother Miwa. The Yamada family took her in despite their housing complex prohibiting pets, first trying to find her a new home before deciding to keep her. During housebreaking, she mistakenly responded to "Chi" (derived from "shikko," the Japanese word for urine), which became her permanent name, though her mother had originally named her Sarah.

Bursting with curiosity and playfulness, Chi is easily distracted by moving objects or new experiences. She forms strong attachments to her human family—Yohei, Miwa (Mom), and Kento Yamada (Dad)—constantly seeking their companionship and approval. Her communication, audible only to viewers, includes frequent expressions like "What's that?," "This is fun!," "This is yummy!," and "Nice and full!" after meals. She displays typical kitten behaviors: fascination with small items, fear of larger animals (especially dogs), and a knack for mischief. She learns by observing human actions, though misunderstandings sometimes occur, like mistaking objects for toys or toilets.

Throughout her experiences, Chi interacts with various animal companions. In Season 2, she bonds with a goldfish named Flutter, displaying persistent curiosity and attempts to physically engage, often requiring Yamada intervention. She frequently socializes with fellow kittens Come-Come, Ann, and Telly, embarking on collaborative adventures like exploring overgrown parks, navigating thickets, and chasing sparkling lights. She also encounters pigeons, receiving hunting lessons from older cats like Blackie and Old Lady Calico, though her attempts remain unsuccessful.

Her development involves adapting to human routines, assisting Mom during cleaning or playing with Yohei’s toys. Conflicts arise occasionally, such as shattering a radio-controlled car during play, leading to temporary disagreements. Seasonal activities include Halloween participation and summer bug-catching. Fantastical elements appear in her adventures, like journeys to "Fluffyland"—a whimsical world of pancake islands and airborne fish—alongside her kitten friends.

Chi’s background reveals her ongoing adjustment to domestic life after separation from her biological family. Her actions reflect a blend of innate feline instincts and learned behaviors from the Yamadas, emphasizing her role as a perpetually curious and energetic companion.
