Description
Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière is born into the aristocratic Vallière family of Tristain, the third daughter of Duke Sandorion de la Vallière and Duchess Karin. She frequently clashes with her sister Éléonore but shares a deep attachment to her sister Cattleya. Her childhood friend, Princess Henrietta who becomes Queen of Tristain, later adopts her as a sister, positioning Louise as heir presumptive to the throne.
Initially a second-year student at Tristain Academy of Magic, Louise consistently failed to cast spells correctly, earning the derogatory nickname "Louise the Zero" from classmates like Kirche von Zerbst. This failure resulted from an unknown elemental affinity causing explosive results. Insecure about her abilities, she often acted prideful, impatient, and temperamental, though she also displayed generosity, selflessness, and loyalty in critical moments.
During the Familiar Summoning Ritual, Louise summoned Saito Hiraga, a human from modern Japan. She initially mistreated him, forcing him to sleep on straw and perform menial tasks while subjecting him to physical punishment with a riding crop or explosive magic when jealous of his interactions with other girls. Their relationship evolved through shared wartime conflicts and missions for Queen Henrietta, developing genuine affection while retaining elements of belligerent tension.
Louise's magical deficiency was explained when she was revealed as a rare Void Mage, an inheritor of the ancient founder Brimir's power. Her Void spells include Explosion, capable of annihilating armies; Dispel, which counters magic; Illusion; Teleport; and World Door, enabling interdimensional travel. Casting requires extended incantations, leaving her vulnerable, a weakness mitigated by Saito acting as her protector.
Significant character development occurred through conflicts. She participated in Tristain's war against Albion, undertook missions like rescuing Tabitha from Gallia, and confronted threats such as the Ancient Dragon. These experiences tempered her impulsiveness while she retained her determination and tsundere tendencies. She eventually married Saito, taking the name Louise Françoise le Blanc de Hiraga de Ornielle, becoming lady of the De Ornière territory.
Louise's relationship with Henrietta remained central; she served as a lady-in-waiting and later as a priestess during the Pope's anniversary enthronement. Her loyalty drove her to risk her life for allies, such as infiltrating Gallia to save Tabitha. After marrying Saito, she used World Door to visit his parents in Japan.
Throughout her journey, Louise maintained rivalries, particularly with Kirche, though formed alliances when necessary. She is petite with long pink hair and eyes. Her attire varied from the academy uniform to mission disguises. Her internal conflicts centered on reconciling her noble status with her feelings for Saito, overcoming magical insecurities, and protecting loved ones.
