Description
Ryūsuke Kyūbi is a second-year performing arts student at Y-Academy and the leader of the school's Tennis Club. He is the reincarnated counterpart of the Yo-kai Kyubi, distinguished by his long lavender white hair that fans out like nine fox tails near the ends, yellow eyes, and red markings beneath them. His usual attire consists of a blue jacket, blue jeans, a purple sweater layered over a white V-neck T-shirt, and brown shoes.

He wields a YSP Watch Zero, a specialized device that facilitates his transformation into a Yo-kai Hero. Proximity to the Onryo Izuna triggers his change into Ninetail, a kitsune-themed hero. Under the influence of an unknown Onryo, he can assume a dark variant called Yami Ninetail. Additionally, by using a Majin watch near a Tengu, he transforms into Tengu the Nine. He is a member of the Ms. Enra Research Society and harbors a notable infatuation with the teacher Natsuki Enra, frequently indulging in romantic fantasies about her, which serves as a recurring source of humor.

His personality is marked by a theatrical flair, often expressed through exaggerated, comical speech—especially when feigning injury to attract Miss Enra’s sympathy. Charismatic and popular among female students, his romantic focus remains solely on Miss Enra. Though generally confident, he becomes flustered or embarrassed when his dramatic ploys are exposed or misunderstood.

His background includes the early discovery that his house and family were entirely fabricated, a revelation that left him with lingering regret over those who manipulated his existence. He is a playable character in "Y School Heroes: Bustlin' School Life" and also appears as a playable Mysterious tribe Yo-kai in "Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble," where his Soultimate Move, "Narcissist Wink," boosts attack power.

In the narrative of "Y School Heroes," he works with the YSP Club to combat curses and threats, frequently employing his transformation abilities in battle. His favorite food is Fluffy Rice Omelettes. He has a family and two pets, setting him apart from his original Yo-kai counterpart. While his peers at school often call him by his last name, Kyūbi, his family uses his first name, Ryūsuke.
