Description
Rin Natsuki balances her second-year studies at L'École des Cinq Lumières with assisting at her family's Natsuki Florist shop and caring for her mischievous but adored twin siblings, Ai and Yu. Initially reluctant to become a Pretty Cure due to responsibility concerns, she embraced the role as Cure Rouge to protect imperiled childhood friend Nozomi Yumehara. Her transformation begins with a Pinky Catch opening as she shouts "Pretty Cure...", completes with an arm motion and "...metamorphose!", culminating in a red glow that reveals her Cure form.
As the "Pretty Cure of Passion" (introduced by the phrase "情熱の赤い炎、キュアルージュ!"), Cure Rouge sports flame-like bright red hair with a magenta butterfly hair clip and earrings. Her costume features a white dress with red lining, pale pink ruffles, dark pink shorts, orange-red boots, and pastel red butterfly-adorned gloves. Power upgrades include Super Cure Rouge with elongated boots, extra ruffles, and large red butterfly wings, plus Rainbow Cure Rouge's neon-red hair, feather-like attire, and small golden wings.
Rin merges tomboyish athleticism—excelling at soccer/futsal—with feminine creativity in accessory design, later crafting merchandise for Natts House café. Her pragmatic, straightforward nature contrasts with Nozomi's exuberance, yet she exhibits fierce protectiveness toward loved ones, fueled by a deep-seated fear of loss. Childhood incidents also left her with an enduring phobia of ghosts and supernatural phenomena.
Her relationships define her growth: she shares an unbreakable childhood bond with Nozomi, develops grudging respect for Karen Minazuki (Cure Aqua) through battle-forged teamwork, and briefly harbors romantic feelings for Mucardia (posing as Kyosuke Momoi) before uncovering his manipulation. Cure Rouge wields fire-based attacks like **Rouge Fire** (conjuring flames from her glove's butterfly mark) and **Rouge Burning** (enhanced via the Rouge Tact), alongside team techniques **Five Explosion** and **Rainbow Explosion**. *Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo!* adds **Fire Strike** to her arsenal.
In *Power of Hope ~PreCure Full Bloom~*, Rin channels her passion into a jewelry design career, reflecting a lifelong equilibrium between family loyalty, friendship, and protective devotion.
