TV-Series
Description
Kasumi Nakasu is a first-year Nijigasaki High School student and founding member of the School Idol Club's subunit QU4RTZ. Her signature color is pastel yellow. She has short grey-brown hair, light magenta eyes, and distinctively wears a yellow star-and-crescent-moon hairpin on her left side. She stands 155 cm tall with measurements of 76-55-79 cm and has blood type B.
Driven by a long-standing dream of becoming an idol, she joined the club as its most passionate member. When the club dwindled to just herself, she declared herself president to keep it active. She later recruited Ayumu Uehara and Yu Takasaki after overhearing their interest, solidifying her leadership role as more members joined. Her motivation stems partly from admiration for an unnamed senior she hoped to join in club activities.
Kasumi is lively, friendly, and deeply enamored with all things cute, especially idols. She exhibits competitiveness, often scheming to win first place through tactics like sabotage or spreading rumors about rivals—though her plans typically fail or lack genuine malice, and she is a sore loser. Despite this, she shows genuine kindness, such as comforting Ayumu before performances or exchanging heartfelt gifts. She strongly dislikes the nickname "Kasukasu" due to past bullying and prefers "Kasumin" or her full name.
Her hobbies include baking bread for 2-3 hours daily and watching idol videos for 3-4 hours daily. She jogs for one hour and dedicates a secret hour after 9:00 PM to undisclosed activities. Academically, she excels in science and home economics but dislikes classical literature and history, citing a forward-looking mindset. She creates nicknames for fellow first-years like "Shizuko" for Shizuku Osaka and "Rinako" for Rina Tennoji, though she resists reciprocative nicknames like "Kasuko." She admires Karin Asaka's mature appearance and views Setsuna Yuki as a talented role model.
Her development includes maintaining the club during its lowest point and evolving from a self-proclaimed "devious tactician" to a supportive member. In the *Nijiyon Animation* spin-off, she devises surprises for Setsuna in Season 1, Episode 10 and collaborates with Karin on plans to enhance her cuteness in Season 2, Episode 5. OVAs depict her expressing affection for Yu Takasaki alongside other members.
She self-compares to a cat, is the franchise's first female character with a fully animated solo performance, and her rival messages often become fanmail. She avoids wearing her moon hair clip in early anime episodes.
