TV-Series
Description
Seri Tatekami, a second generation Fafner pilot assigned to Mark Zwolf, possesses grey eyes and black hair that gradually lengthens and eventually turns white by the time of The Beyond.
During the original series, Seri and her friend Rina Nishio interact with Hiroto Douma, hearing him address Kenji Kondou's behavior over the school speaker and later watching him retrieve watermelons. When soldiers invade Tatsumiyajima Island, Seri hides and encounters Tsubaki Minashiro. They talk about Seri's biology club activities and insect research methods. Seri reassures Tsubaki about being left behind and affirms their friendship. Tsubaki then transports Seri to safety via an underground tube before they separate. Seri participates in school events like the Tanabata Festival and reacts to the discovery of a Festum in Kouyou Kasugai's home. Later, she prevents Hiroto from touching Tsubaki and follows Tsubaki to a rooftop during an alarm, staying with her during a battle as they observe blooming flowers. After another attack, she witnesses Chisato Kodate saving them by closing a hangar door. She later observes Tsubaki's transformation into the island's core, crying with Rina as Tsubaki disappears and becomes an infant as part of the core's cyclical regeneration.
In Exodus, Seri encounters Soushi Minashiro in an elevator while visiting Tsubaki. Their conversation reveals Seri switched to a combined doctor and specialty care course at Chizuru Toomi's suggestion to better care for Tsubaki. During a Festum attack, she launches in Mark Zwolf alongside other second generation pilots, engaging enemies with weapons like the Levin Sword and Shotgun Horn. After the battle, Chizuru examines her. Seri later visits the island's core, commenting on Tsubaki's growth and expressing sadness that Tsubaki wouldn't want more people to fight. She attends a test battle for third generation pilots and distributes protective charms to them, reacting somberly upon learning Sui Kaburagi's deceased sister received one during Plan L. She confirms to her father Masaki Tatekami that the charms were distributed and acknowledges her brother's deployment. Her parents research newly appeared Gordian Crystals in the Keel Block and discuss their significance with Orihira Minashiro.
During The Beyond, Seri appears alongside Kaguya and Sakuya Minashiro during their contact with Soushi. She participates in the Sixth Operation Azure, destroying a Leviathan-type Festum surrounding an L-Boat and welcoming its occupants home. In combat against Mark Raison, her attacks are blocked, and she nearly gets hit before a Norn intercepts the beam. She teams up with Abaddon against Mark Raison and observes Miwa Hino's power neutralizing threats. After the operation, she reunites with Kaguya and Sakuya and greets L-Boat personnel. The next day, she guides Sakura Kondou and her family to her mother's gravesite and visits Misao Kurusu's resting place. A month later, she reunites with Rina at the Rakuen, assuring her she won't die despite Rina's worries after the Fourth Operation Azure. She attends the Tanabata Festival with her family and later watches Kazuki Makabe and Kouyou Kasugai depart the island. Her family also dines with Sui Kaburagi's parents and participates in pre-operation ceremonies.
