Agnes Boulange is a traveling puppeteer who arrives in the city of Ert’Aria, where she stages circus acts with her controlled automata puppets, often performing before a cathedral. She is accompanied by Tango, a talking cat automaton she created, who participates in her shows and acts as her confidant. Agnes came to Ert’Aria searching for her mother and mentor, Mise Altoise, the creator of the automaton Minette. As Mise Altoise’s apprentice, she holds knowledge about automata and helps Leicester Maycraft and his adventurer group, Clan Oasis, understand Minette. She encounters Leicester and his companions during a meteor shower and later finds shelter with the group. Agnes has a cheerful, carefree, and curious disposition, speaking her mind directly, and she has a pronounced fondness for desserts, especially cake. Over time, she develops romantic feelings for Leicester. She has pink eyes and ochre hair styled in pigtails, often accessorized with a performance hat, stands 150 cm tall, and has measurements of 76-57-80.
