Movie
Description
Maguro Kurokami is the eldest child of Kajiki Kurokami and older brother to Kujira and Medaka Kurokami. A former student of Hakoniwa Academy's Class 13 and an ex-member of the Flask Plan's Thirteen Party under the project name Magician, he later assumes management of the academy's old school building, Ghost Babel.
He displays a cheerful, often perverted demeanor, engaging in playful antics though he can become serious when the situation demands. Maguro harbors an obsessive love for his younger sisters, who do not welcome his affections. Despite his goofy exterior, he is highly perceptive and adept at swiftly devising effective countermeasures. He regards Zenkichi Hitoyoshi as a positive influence on Medaka and supports their relationship, albeit while teasing Zenkichi occasionally. Initially believing Zenkichi too weak for Medaka, he later regrets imposing such a burden and resolves to help Zenkichi improve.
In appearance, Maguro sports waist-length purple hair with two ahoges, much like his sister Medaka. His typical attire consists of a purple shirt, violet wristbands, a cross necklace, and green pants fastened by a belt adorned with a skull and crossbones. He once bore multiple sutures across his chest and was missing several internal organs—his left kidney, 20% of his heart, 50% of his liver, 75% of his stomach, five arteries, and three veins—extracted as samples by the Flask Plan. These injuries were later healed by Misogi Kumagawa.
During childhood, Maguro spied on his sister Kujira alongside Medaka when Kujira threw tantrums. He loved both sisters equally and would comfort Kujira after her outbursts. As a child, he was quite ordinary and often played with Medaka before they began elementary school. His talents emerged in middle school, where he excelled at producing people and managed the Kurokami Group’s finances, transforming it into an international powerhouse. He enrolled in Hakoniwa Academy and joined the Flask Plan to find his missing sister, Kujira. There, he taught hidden weapon usage to Kei Munakata, who displayed no aptitude for it. Partnered with Oudo Miyakonojou, Maguro grew fascinated by him and momentarily forgot his original goal. After failing to locate Kujira, he left the Flask Plan. The health toll from the project forced him to drop out of school and take up the manager role at Ghost Babel.
In the narrative, Maguro welcomes Medaka to Ghost Babel and vows to restore her to her prime out of love for her. He discloses his involvement with the Flask Plan but withholds details to shield her. He offers Medaka and Zenkichi training options; both select the hellish Option A. Throughout their training, he monitors their progress and intervenes in battles, such as suggesting Zenkichi fight Kei Munakata. He analyzes Zenkichi's fighting style, noting his normal yet persistent nature. Maguro is horrified when Zenkichi is impaled by Munakata and accepts responsibility. He continues supporting the group through subsequent trials, like the zoo floor with its aberrant animals, and interacts with characters such as Naze and Koga.
Maguro's abilities include his role as a trainer in the Flask Plan, specializing in producing geniuses. His unnamed abnormality revolves around producing or developing people, evidenced through his work with the Kurokami Group and the Flask Plan. He is also skilled in hidden weapon usage and possesses sharp perceptiveness and strategic acumen.
