Extreme mood swings fuel this volatility, a trait that secured his selection as pilot for the sentient Masō Kishin Cybuster, requiring substantial spiritual energy (prana) to operate.
Summoned to the subterranean realm of La Gias by the Langran emperor, Masaki first piloted the Wind Masōki Jaohm. The sacred beast Cyfis later chose him to operate the more powerful Cybuster. Though the last of four Masō Kishin pilots selected, he commands what is considered the most formidable unit. In La Gias, he navigates political conflicts and confronts adversaries like Shu Shirakawa, a brilliant scientist and recurring antagonist. His interactions with female characters result in an unintentional harem dynamic, highlighting his awkwardness in romantic or social situations.
Across narrative arcs, Masaki's driving goal is pursuing Shirakawa, pilot of the formidable Granzon.
