Description
Masaki Andoh debuts as one of Banpresto's first original characters in *Super Robot Wars II*. Seventeen years old, his personality is defined by impulsiveness and hot-blooded determination. He excels at physical activities like sports but often acts without forethought. Extreme mood swings fuel this volatility, a trait that secured his selection as pilot for the sentient Masō Kishin Cybuster, requiring substantial spiritual energy (prana) to operate.

Summoned to the subterranean realm of La Gias by the Langran emperor, Masaki first piloted the Wind Masōki Jaohm. The sacred beast Cyfis later chose him to operate the more powerful Cybuster. Though the last of four Masō Kishin pilots selected, he commands what is considered the most formidable unit. In La Gias, he navigates political conflicts and confronts adversaries like Shu Shirakawa, a brilliant scientist and recurring antagonist. His interactions with female characters result in an unintentional harem dynamic, highlighting his awkwardness in romantic or social situations.

Across narrative arcs, Masaki's driving goal is pursuing Shirakawa, pilot of the formidable Granzon. This rivalry propels him into larger conflicts, such as the Divine Crusaders' rebellion against the Earth Federation Army. He reluctantly allies with Federation forces, including teams like the SRX and ATX, to achieve his objectives despite his solitary nature. His combat style leverages the Cybuster's flight and dimensional travel capabilities, aided by his feline familiars, Kuro and Shiro, manifestations of his subconscious.

In a storyline involving rogue scientist Wilhelm von Jurgen, Masaki assists in countering an onslaught of autonomous Bartoll mecha. He participates in large-scale battles against these units, which kidnap humans for integration into their control system. This reinforces his pattern of engaging extraterrestrial or interdimensional threats while maintaining his focus on confronting Shirakawa.

Throughout his appearances, Masaki evolves from a lone warrior into a reluctant ally of larger military groups. His core motivations remain anchored to personal vendettas and protecting dimensional realms. He consistently embodies the archetype of a determined yet emotionally driven pilot, wielding the Cybuster's power across multiple conflicts without full integration into formal military structures.
