Pierrot serves as the primary antagonist, known as Emperor Nogo in the Glitter Force adaptation. Ruling the Bad End Kingdom (renamed Shadow Realm in Glitter Force), he embodies humanity's negative emotions and seeks to impose an unhappy ending on the universe. His origins trace back to Commedia dell'Arte, his design reflecting the classic sad clown archetype to symbolize despair and suffering.
Before the series began, Pierrot attacked Märchenland (Jubiland in Glitter Force), stealing the Cure Decors (Glitter Charms) to weaken its ruler, Royale Queen (Queen Euphoria). The queen used her remaining power to seal him within his domain. His minions—Joker, Wolfrun, Akaoni, and Majorina—gather Bad Energy from Earth to revive him.
Pierrot's appearance evolves dramatically. Initially, he resembles a colossal clown with a stark white face, red eyes, a red nose, and a harlequin hat studded with multicolored balls, wearing a black suit with pink sleeves and a ruffled collar. After absorbing Joker during his revival, he becomes slimmer, loses his clown nose, gains bat wings, and his outfit shifts to feature light purple accents with floating armbands. His true form manifests as a planet-sized claw-like black hole wreathed in red gas, featuring a central red mouth and eyes.
The first resurrection attempt succeeds midway through the series, but the newly empowered Cures in Princess Mode defeat him temporarily using the Rainbow Burst attack. A surviving fragment, later revealed as a cocoon housing his true essence, escapes. He fully awakens near the series' end after absorbing Joker and his commanders' energy, summoning Despair Giants (Shadow Giants) and an army of monsters to overwhelm the Cures. When the Cures access Ultra Mode and destroy his puppet body, Pierrot absorbs his remaining forces to unveil his true form, inflicting catastrophic damage on Earth and disabling the Cures' transformation devices. The Cures and the fairy Candy ultimately defeat him using the Miracle Jewel's power, an act that severs the link between Earth and Märchenland.
Pierrot's abilities include generating magical black ink to create Bad End Spaces for harvesting despair energy, firing destructive blasts of Bad Energy, and manipulating ink into monsters or attacks. He can absorb ink or negative energy to amplify his strength, though his initial revived state remains vulnerable to the Cures' upgraded forms.
In the series' epilogue novel set ten years later, Pierrot's powers and immortality transfer to a revived Joker due to their fusion during the final battle. He also appears in the crossover film *Pretty Cure All Stars: Minna de Utau♪ Kiseki no Mahou!* as one of several revived villains.
