Description
Grunhilde Serenity holds the position of eighth princess within the Serenity Royal Family. She has striking blue eyes and long, light blonde hair, often worn in two buns with tails casually or a neck-length ponytail formally. Her attire shifts with context: the pink Hakuoh Academy uniform for school, a black Yacht Club hoodie during club activities, and a distinctive dark red military coat with gold lining, brown shoulder pads, white leggings, and dark blue boots aboard the *Queen Serendipity*.

Sociable yet quieter than her older sister Gruier, Grunhilde shares Gruier's ambivalence toward their royal status and exhibits jealousy when left out. She demonstrates pragmatic flexibility, willing to employ underhanded tactics. Their relationship was initially strained by conflicting visions for the royal family's future, specifically regarding a legendary golden ghost ship containing the artificial womb responsible for their lineage. While Gruier aimed to destroy it, Grunhilde sought to use it to produce another heir and resolve discord. They reconciled after resolving this situation.

Following the reconciliation, Grunhilde followed Gruier to enroll at Hakuoh Academy and join the space yacht club. Training there gave her proficiency in operating dinghies through simulations, leading to a second-place finish at the 19th Nebula Cup. She also gained operational knowledge of systems on vessels like the *Odette II* and the pirate ship *Bentenmaru*.

Her interactions with Marika Kato shifted significantly. Initially distrustful due to Marika's pirate ties and protective of Gruier, Grunhilde changed her view after observing Marika directly. She sometimes displayed envy when Gruier seemed to monopolize Marika's attention. During the events of *Abyss of Hyperspace*, Grunhilde developed a crush on Kanata Mugen, son of a space explorer. She actively assisted him, earning his gratitude and drawing amused notice from Gruier and yacht club peers. Her decision to accompany Gruier on adventures stemmed partly from envy of the enjoyment Gruier found with Marika.

Her name's "Hilde" originates from Old Norse "Hildr" (battle), while "Grun" relates to the German word for green.
