His visage merges macabre and mechanical: a severed head often clutched underarm or hovering autonomously, jagged fangs, a monocular lens replacing one eye, and unkempt hair paired with a pencil mustache and goatee.

Bound by staunch loyalty to Dr. Hell, he harbors a volatile rivalry with fellow subordinate Baron Ashura. Though less tactically shrewd, Brocken relies on blunt military stratagems, occasionally crafting viable plans frequently sabotaged by Ashura’s meddling. Their feud intensifies after Ashura’s demotion to his subordinate, yet necessity forces them into uneasy alliances, such as raiding Japanium reserves. Despite clashes, Brocken demonstrates grudging respect, thwarting Iron Cross Corps assassins targeting Ashura and lamenting his eventual demise.

He commands the airborne fortress Gool and the Iron Cross Corps, a paramilitary force piloting mechanized beasts. His cybernetic frame functions independently of his detached head, and he battles with a Luger, saber, and biomechanical weaponry. Spin-offs like *Shin Mazinger Impact! Z Chapter* augment his arsenal with interchangeable bodies and a crimson-uniformed redesign. The original saga concludes with Mazinger Z obliterating Gool, killing Brocken and Dr. Hell mid-escape.
