He fights as a frontline warrior in the Bansha Aratamesho, wielding a spear that fractures mid-flight into enchanted projectiles to combat supernatural entities called Yōi. His bond with Edo Genbatsu, a cross-dressing Shinto priest, thrives on mutual trust, their partnership extending from battlefield coordination to shared revelry and camaraderie.

Rooted in his tribal heritage, Abi’s personal quest revolves around locating his sister, who vanished into the Other World and reemerged as a demon. This mission intertwines with larger conflicts when his tribe captures Ayashi allies, unveiling their true enemy: Torii Yōzō, a manipulative political foe. The harrowing discovery of his sister’s transformation cements Abi’s resolve to align his vendetta with the group’s goals.

Later encounters with a tribesman from his past reignite tensions between his loyalty to the Ayashi and unresolved ties to his kin, forcing him to reconcile duty with familial bonds.
