Description
Eisen, a dwarf warrior, stood among the Hero Party—alongside Himmel, Frieren, and Heiter—that defeated the Demon King. His dwarf heritage granted a lifespan exceeding humans yet falling short of elves, letting him witness decades of history while still feeling time's weight.

A demon attack claiming his wife and child forged his perspective on mortality. Initially pragmatic and indifferent to faith, a talk with Heiter shifted his view; the priest suggested belief in an afterlife comforts the departed. Eisen embraced this ritual, praying at his family's grave throughout his long life.

He embodied classic dwarf stature: short, robust, framed by long brown hair and a thick beard masking much of his face. In his prime, he commanded attention in a horned helmet, floor-length red cape, shoulder armor, wielding a formidable double-bit axe. Age thinned his powerful frame, though echoes of his iconic garb remained.

Combat defined him. Eisen commanded superhuman strength, durability, speed, reflexes, and poison resistance, boasting he could shatter diamond with bare hands. His axe mastery culminated in Lightning Strike (閃天撃, Sentengeki), a devastating downward slash unleashing destructive shockwaves. His resilience let him endure plunges from great heights, survive dragon bites, and withstand poisoned wounds fatal to others. Yet humility marked him; he often stated stronger warriors perished before him, crediting his survival merely to outliving them.

Personality evolved from stern reserve to valuing camaraderie. Once dismissive of frivolity and blunt in critique—like scolding Himmel for prioritizing fun—the journey revealed his loyalty, kindness, and capacity for joy, seen when crafting flower crowns with Frieren and Heiter. His wit and occasional recklessness surfaced, nearly causing his and Himmel's execution after insulting a king.

After the adventure, bonds endured. He exchanged letters with Heiter until the priest's death and took Stark as his disciple. Their relationship strained when Stark, reminded of past battles, initially refused to fight a dragon-like monster, but mutual respect and affection remained. Eisen later urged Stark to join Frieren's new party, seeing him as a successor to their spirit. Privately, Eisen wished for Frieren to reunite with Himmel in Aureole.

Retiring reclusively, Eisen became an enduring symbol. His legacy shaped Stark's growth and subtly influenced Frieren's grasp of human bonds. Even aged and diminished, he performed minor feats—lifting boulders, running across water—and imparted pragmatic wisdom like teaching Stark that "fear keeps you alive."
