Description
Zephel hails from an industrial planetoid belt, born to commoner parents on June 4. His father, a factory engineer, introduced him early to machinery. At age 16, Zephel was forcibly recruited from his family to become the Guardian of Steel in the Holy Land, representing the Sacrea of technology and the processing of metals and minerals.

Physically, Zephel possesses platinum hair and ruby red eyes. He stands 169cm (5'7") tall and weighs 51kg (112lb) initially, later growing to 171cm (5'7") and 53kg (116lb). A Gemini with blood type B, his personality blends rebelliousness with underlying gentleness. He dedicates time to tinkering with machines, rollerblading, and playing squash, while maintaining interests in nanomachines and environmental matters.

His preferences include chicken curry, tacos, and mineral water, while he dislikes jam, fresh cream, salad fruits, and candy. He appreciates the scent of soap and values mechanical engineering books. He describes his ideal romantic partner as "an average girl."

Among the Guardians, Zephel considers Luva his closest friend and maintains a contentious relationship with Randy. Resistant to formal duties and social expectations, he frequently avoids ceremonial events. This rebellious streak surfaces during his accidental first encounter with the Legendary Etoile, Ange, in a forest. Despite an aloof exterior, he demonstrates protectiveness by rescuing her from a fall.

As Ange undertakes her mission to revive a parallel universe, Zephel's character evolves. Though initially reluctant, he eventually provides his Sacrea power when needed. He later chastises Ange for attempting to shoulder responsibilities alone, revealing growing investment in her mission. This marks the start of his emotional attachment, which develops into genuine affection.

When Ange becomes trapped in the parallel universe after battling the Spirit of Sacrea, Zephel participates in efforts to support her remotely. During this time, he contributes to locating and recruiting new Guardians for the endangered universe, confronting the difficult reality these recruits face – separation from families and normal lives due to temporal displacement inherent to Guardian duties.

His background as a commoner forcibly taken from his family creates ongoing tension with his role, mirroring experiences like Clavis's abduction. Zephel's understanding of this sacrifice informs his conflicted perspective on recruiting new Guardians, balancing necessity against personal empathy.

Throughout the series, Zephel transitions from a reluctant, mechanically-inclined youth to a committed Guardian who actively supports cosmic restoration efforts while navigating complex relationships and unspoken feelings for the Legendary Etoile.
