Description
Meat, whose full name is Alexandria Meat, is a small-statured alien from the Churrasco Tribe of Planet Kinniku. He is instantly recognizable by his large round glasses, his diminutive two-to-three-heads-tall frame, and the hiragana characters for niku (meat) written across his forehead. In the anime Kinnikuman Nisei: Ultimate Muscle 2, Meat serves as the dedicated trainer, advisor, and surrogate caretaker for the next generation of the Kinniku royal family, specifically for Mantaro Kinniku, also known as Kid Muscle.

Meat originally served as the childhood companion and right-hand man of Suguru Kinniku, the original Kinnikuman. After the era of peace that followed Suguru’s reign, Meat foresaw a future threat to Earth. To preserve his youth and remain available to guide the next prince, he placed himself into a cryogenic stasis inside the Kinniku household. When the villainous organization DMP emerged and the Hercules Factory began training a new generation of heroes, Meat was awakened by Mantaro. Despite decades of sleep, Meat’s appearance and sharp mind remained unchanged, allowing him to step seamlessly into the role of mentor.

Personality wise, Meat is intelligent, disciplined, and fiercely loyal to the Kinniku line. He is the voice of reason who constantly pushes Mantaro to overcome his laziness, cowardice, and immature habits. Though he often expresses frustration with Mantaro’s antics, he never wavers in his belief that the young prince possesses the same heroic potential as his father. Meat is tough but caring, frequently using his deep knowledge of wrestling tactics and the history of past battles to devise strategies that help Mantaro and his allies defeat their opponents. He is pragmatic and level-headed, but also compassionate; he forms strong emotional bonds with those he protects and will take great personal risk to ensure their safety.

Meat’s motivations are rooted in duty and gratitude. He was entrusted to the Kinniku family as an infant because of his exceptional intelligence, and he has always considered it his mission to serve the prince. His loyalty is not blind, however. He respects the ideals of justice and self-improvement, and he genuinely cares for both Suguru and Mantaro as family. In Ultimate Muscle 2, his primary goal is to groom Mantaro into a worthy successor to the Muscle League, while also protecting Earth from the dMP and other threats.

In terms of role in the story, Meat operates as a non-combatant strategist and sidekick. He rarely engages in direct wrestling competition due to his small size and lack of fighting power, but he is indispensable from the sidelines. He accompanies Mantaro to nearly every match, offering real-time advice, analyzing opponents’ weaknesses, and providing emotional support. He also serves as a link to the past, recounting the techniques and experiences of the original Muscle League to guide the new generation. At times, he acts as a mediator between hot-headed young wrestlers or a source of wisdom when the team loses confidence.

Key relationships include his bond with Mantaro, whom he affectionately calls Nisei (meaning the second) and treats with a mix of strict discipline and genuine affection. His relationship with Suguru remains one of mutual respect and brotherhood. He also interacts frequently with other new generation heroes such as Terry the Kid, Kevin Mask, and Wally Tusket, often acting as a unifying presence. In the original series, he harbored a romantic interest in Mari Nikaido, and this connection carries into the sequel era through their reunion.

Development wise, Meat undergoes a subtle but meaningful arc. Initially frozen in time, he represents the continuity between eras. His challenges in Ultimate Muscle 2 include coming to terms with the fact that Mantaro is not a copy of his father and must find his own path. He learns to trust the new generation’s methods even when they differ from the old ways. A significant moment occurs when he is once again captured and torn apart by villains, echoing a traumatic event from the original series. His rescue and survival reinforce his resilience and the importance of the bonds among the heroes.

Notable abilities include his brilliant tactical mind, considered one of the sharpest among all chōjin. He possesses encyclopedic knowledge of wrestling techniques, opponents’ histories, and strategic analysis. He is also capable of emitting a bright light from the characters on his forehead when pressing his temple, a function used for signaling or illumination. However, his most defining trait is his vulnerability: his glasses are essential for his vision, and if they are broken, he becomes nearly helpless. This weakness is a recurring plot point that puts him in danger during battles. Despite his physical frailty, Meat’s unwavering courage and intellect make him a cornerstone of the Muscle League’s success in the Nisei era.
