Description
Meat Alexandria is a character from the anime and manga series Kinnikuman. He originally hails from Planet Kinniku, belonging to the Churrasco Tribe. His father, Mince, entrusted him to Mayumi Kinniku of the Kinniku clan for the greater good of the planet, and Meat was subsequently sent to Earth on a mission to retrieve the long-lost prince, Suguru Kinniku, who is better known as Kinnikuman. Meat is a young boy who wears glasses and bears the hiragana characters for niku, meaning meat, on his forehead. Although he is a member of the Churrasco Tribe, he carries the Kinniku clan's KIN mark on his chest. His appearance remains youthful over time, as he later cryogenically freezes himself to continue serving the Kinniku lineage.
Meat functions as Kinnikuman's sidekick, closest friend, adviser, and trainer. He is super-intelligent and often acts as Kinnikuman's eyes and personal assistant, managing daily tasks and standing by his side during matches. His role is primarily that of a supporter and strategist rather than a frontline fighter, though he does occasionally participate in combat. During the Scramble for the Throne arc, for instance, he defeats Mixer Emperor with a backdrop move. In the series Kinnikuman Nisei, also known as Ultimate Muscle, Meat elects to be cryogenically frozen so that he can serve Kinnikuman's son, Mantaro Kinniku, as his trainer and guide.
Meat's personality is defined by his sharp intelligence and his devotion to Kinnikuman. He frequently scolds Kinnikuman for his cowardice, laziness, and foolishness, yet he remains a loyal and encouraging presence. The two share a brother-like relationship, occasionally clashing due to their differing ethics and opinions but always reuniting in times of need. In the early days, they often quarreled, sometimes even competing over the affection of Mari Nikaidou. Despite these conflicts, Meat is deeply committed to Kinnikuman's success and well-being. His motivation stems from a sense of duty and genuine friendship, having been entrusted with the mission of supporting the prince and later choosing to extend that service to the next generation.
Key relationships in Meat's life include his bond with Kinnikuman, whom he addresses as Ouji or Ouji-sama, meaning prince, and later Kinnikuman's son Mantaro, whom he calls Nisei, meaning second. Meat also has two older sisters: Medium Rare, who is described as beautiful, and Kalbi Liver, who is depicted as overweight and unattractive. His relationship with Mari Nikaidou evolves throughout the series, and after their reunion in later storylines, they are widely regarded as being a couple, though this is not explicitly confirmed.
Meat undergoes notable development across the series. He begins as a somewhat quarrelsome companion but grows into an indispensable ally who chooses to sacrifice a normal life by freezing himself to aid the next generation of heroes. This decision underscores his dedication and sense of responsibility. His character persists through the original series and into the sequel, maintaining his role as a wise and reliable figure.
Among Meat's notable abilities is his high intelligence, which he uses to advise Kinnikuman and formulate strategies. He possesses a unique physical trait: when he presses his temple, a bright light shines from the characters on his forehead. His glasses are a critical weakness, as he ceases to function properly when they are broken. Despite not being a powerful fighter in his own right, his resourcefulness and knowledge make him an invaluable part of the story.
