Tamaki Maekawa is Keiko and Rinko Nikaido's high school classmate. In the manga, she initially appears as a "ganguro" kogal who bullies Keiko, extorting money and suggesting prostitution when funds are insufficient. Following The Rigany's kidnapping of Rinko, Tamaki experiences transformative growth, abandoning her past behavior to forge authentic friendships with both Keiko and Rinko.
