Description
Terryman originates as a Justice Choujin representing the United States, specifically Amarillo, Texas. Initially an arrogant and self-centered fighter motivated solely by money, his character transforms profoundly after encountering Kinnikuman. Witnessing Kinnikuman's selfless heroism inspires Terryman to embrace justice and friendship as core values, leading him to become one of Kinnikuman's closest and most trusted allies.

He possesses a highly muscular build, featuring white or blonde hair (varying by adaptation), dark blue/grey eyes, and typically wears red wrestling attire comprising boots, knee bands, shorts, and gloves, though some adaptations use a blue color scheme. Distinctive markings include the character "米" (Bei) on his forehead and star emblems on his shoulders, symbolizing his fighting spirit. A critical aspect is his prosthetic left leg, acquired after an injury sustained during the 20th Choujin Olympics when Kinkotsuman shot him while he shielded Kinnikuman. This initial prosthetic, crafted by Backlund, faced irreparable damage later during a battle against Justiceman, leaving Terryman reliant on temporary replacements until a remorseful Kinkotsuman built a new one using Backlund's blueprints.

His relationships form key narrative arcs. His bond with Kinnikuman evolves from rivalry into a deep, enduring friendship, leading them to form the tag team "The Machineguns." Despite occasional tensions, such as briefly partnering with Geronimo during the Dream Choujin Tag Team Tournament, their loyalty prevails, exemplified when Terryman assumes the identity of "Kinnikuman Great" to fight alongside Kinnikuman. He develops a romantic relationship with Japanese reporter Natsuko Shono, eventually marrying her. Their marriage produces a son, Terry the Kid, though Terryman's strict training methods—including subjecting his son to a death-match against Volcano—create a strained dynamic, with Terry the Kid initially resenting comparisons to his father.

Terryman's combat emphasizes technical wrestling over flashy techniques. Signature moves include submission holds like the Spinning Toe Hold and Texas Clover Hold. He exhibits common Choujin capabilities: flight, size manipulation (growing over 30 meters), enhanced strength, durability, and regeneration. A defining power is "Burning Inner Strength" (Kajiba no Kuso Chikara), which drastically amplifies his physical stats (up to 82 times normal levels), grants mid-level regeneration (healing severe injuries like impalement), enables instinctive combat reactions, and provides resistances against effects like existence erasure or soul destruction. His fighting style is characterized by strategic analysis, often recognizing opponents' techniques with his trademark phrase "Come to think of it, I’ve heard of this..."

Key story involvements include early monster-fighting arcs marking his moral shift, participation in multiple Choujin Olympics (notably losing his leg in the 20th), and critical roles in arcs like the Survivor Match for the Kinniku Throne. Post-retirement, he lives on a Texas ranch with Natsuko, focusing on family life while occasionally supporting younger Justice Choujin generations. His legacy extends through his son, who inherits techniques like the Texas Clover Hold, though Terry the Kid initially struggles with his father's supporting role in history.
