Description
Suguru Kinniku, known as Kinnikuman, is prince and later king of Planet Kinniku. Born April 1, 1960, his parents accidentally abandoned him on Earth during a vacation, mistaking him for a pig due to his appearance. He grew up alone, initially living as a clumsy and ineffective superhero ridiculed by humans despite his attempts to protect them. His early powers involved consuming garlic to grow 30 meters tall and unleashing attacks like the Kinniku Flash, though these actions often caused collateral damage, worsening his reputation.

His life shifted when Meat Alexandria, an emissary from Planet Kinniku, revealed his royal heritage. Kinnikuman returned home to challenge the pig impostor King Tone for the throne. Defeated in judo, boxing, and wrestling matches, he was banished back to Earth until he could prove himself a worthy hero, beginning his journey from comical underdog to respected champion.

Kinnikuman's development intensified as the narrative shifted focus towards wrestling. He entered the 20th Chojin Olympics, facing initial ridicule but ultimately defeating reigning champion Robin Mask by unlocking his latent "Burning Inner Strength" during the finals, earning widespread recognition. His growth continued during the American Tour, training under Prince Kamehame in Hawaii to master the 48 Killer Moves—including his signature Kinniku Buster—and forming the tag team "The Machineguns" with former rival Terryman, who became his closest ally.

Kinnikuman confronted escalating threats like the Seven Devil Chojin, Akuma Shogun, and the Perfect Chojin faction, tests solidifying his role as a unifying figure among Justice Chojin. Key relationships shaped him: his friendship with Terryman became foundational; his bond with Bibimba evolved from one-sided annoyance to genuine love, culminating in marriage and the birth of their son, Mantaro; former adversaries like Robin Mask, Warsman, and Buffaloman became trusted allies through mutual respect. His leadership was cemented during the Scramble for the Throne arc, defeating five impostor princes to claim his rightful kingship.

After ascending the throne, Kinnikuman returned to Planet Kinniku but remained committed to universal peace. During the Perfect Origin arc, he forfeited royal duties temporarily to combat the Perfect Large Numbers, a new threat disrupting a peace treaty between Justice, Devil, and Perfect Chojin factions, underscoring his dedication to justice and camaraderie.

Later, depicted in the sequel *Kinnikuman Nisei (Ultimate Muscle)*, Kinnikuman aged into a retired king, losing his muscular physique but retaining his lighthearted, immature personality. He deliberately concealed his heroic past from Mantaro, preferring to be seen as a simple father rather than a legend. Despite this, he supported Mantaro’s own heroism through guidance and occasional training, maintaining a playful yet caring dynamic. His legacy endured through the Hercules Factory, where he and other veteran heroes trained new generations of Justice Chojin.

Kinnikuman's abilities evolved significantly. Early reliance on size-changing and beams gave way to advanced wrestling techniques like the Kinniku Driver and Kinniku Buster. His "Burning Inner Strength" remained defining, enabling miraculous comebacks. Personality-wise, he balanced perpetual childishness—evident in arrogance, laziness, and lecherous tendencies—with profound nobility when defending others. This duality defined him: a flawed but inherently heroic figure whose growth stemmed from friendship, sacrifice, and an unwavering sense of justice.
