Description
Known also as Suguru Kinniku, Kinnikuman originates as prince of Planet Kinniku, accidentally abandoned on Earth during infancy due to parental oversight. Initially a clumsy, inept superhero facing human ridicule, his early heroism attempts resulted in frequent failures and public mockery. He evolves beyond this comical portrayal by entering wrestling tournaments and battling diverse chojin factions.

His appearance features a distinctive mask-like face, later revealed to conceal miraculous properties capable of purifying environments or reviving the dead. Removing this mask violates Planet Kinniku’s laws and incurs a death penalty. He wields "Burning Inner Strength" (Kajiba no Kuso Chikara), accessing extraordinary power reserves in dire situations for dramatic comebacks. His fighting style integrates techniques learned under mentors like Prince Kamehame, including the iconic Kinniku Buster among 48 Killer Moves.

Development occurs through alliances and rivalries with other chojin. Former adversaries like Ramenman—a brutal martial artist turned mentor—and Buffaloman—a power-focused antagonist turned ally—become trusted comrades. His closest bonds include Terryman, his earliest friend and strategic partner despite initial antagonism, and Meat Alexandria, his intellectually gifted caretaker from Planet Kinniku providing tactical support. These relationships propel his growth from incompetence to leadership among the Idol Chojin.

After consecutive Chojin Olympic victories and triumphs over adversaries like the Devil Chojin and Perfect Chojin, he wins the Scramble for the Kinniku Throne. This leads to his coronation as Planet Kinniku’s 58th Great King and marriage to Bibinba. His reign includes political duties like signing treaties among Justice, Devil, and Perfect Chojin factions.

Approximately 1.5 years after taking the throne, he temporarily forfeits royal duties to return to Earth during the Perfect Origin arc, following the Perfect Large Numbers corps shattering the inter-faction peace treaty. Despite matured status, he retains signature goofiness while demonstrating refined combat instincts, such as reverting to fundamental techniques against rapidly evolving opponents like Peek-a-Boo. His participation in the subsequent tournament culminates in victory over Nemesis, reinforcing his role as Earth’s protector.

Later life involves fathering Kinniku Mantaro, protagonist of the sequel series Kinnikuman Nisei (Ultimate Muscle). This next-generation narrative shows him supporting new heroes while Meat Alexandria elects cryogenic preservation to train Mantaro.
