Akina Nanamura is a human teenager and childhood friend of Kazuto Tokino, living near his family’s bathhouse and serving as a shrine maiden at her ancestral temple. She possesses spiritual abilities, including crafting protective barriers and wielding demon wards. When the Valhallan princess Hydra crash-lands at the temple, Akina seals her powers, trapping Hydra in a childlike body while preserving her adult mind. Akina harbors unspoken romantic feelings for Kazuto, visiting the bathhouse regularly but never confessing, leading to regret as she witnesses his growing relationship with Princess Valkyrie. She is self-conscious about her breast size, a trait Hydra frequently mocks, often sparking arguments and physical fights. At Hydra’s suggestion, Valkyrie temporarily enlarges Akina’s breasts using the Key of Time, though the change is later reversed. When their discord intensifies, Akina and Hydra fuse into a powerful warrior named Akidra, merging their abilities and allowing internal communication; the fusion dissolves if they become too agreeable. Akina is a notoriously poor karaoke singer and has a cat allergy. She experiences age regression to a childlike state and confronts a Valkyrie Ghost, during which she discovers her fusion ability.
