Scorpio Milo guards the eighth temple in the Sanctuary. He achieved the rank of Gold Saint at just seven years old, showcasing exceptional potential early on. His personality embodies fierce pride and honor, especially concerning the Gold Saints' reputation, presenting a noble yet impetuous demeanor. Milo speaks directly and values justice, leading him to mediate disputes among peers, such as preventing conflict between Aries Mu and Leo Aiolia. In combat, Milo employs psychological tactics, using words to provoke opponents into recklessness. His signature Scarlet Needle technique targets fourteen pressure points mirroring the Scorpio constellation's stars, inflicting severe pain and progressive sensory loss. He typically offers adversaries a chance to surrender before completing the sequence. The fifteenth strike, Antares, proves lethal if applied after all fourteen previous needles. However, Milo demonstrates mercy by withholding Antares under certain conditions, such as acknowledging an opponent's resolve, and can reverse the technique to halt bleeding instead of causing death. During the Hades conflict, Milo subjected Gemini Kanon, who claimed allegiance to Athena, to the Scarlet Needles as a loyalty test. Despite Athena's prior forgiveness, Milo insisted on verifying Kanon's sincerity personally. After witnessing Kanon endure the pain without retaliation, Milo ceased the attack, declared Kanon a fellow Gold Saint, and neutralized the technique's effects to stop his bleeding. This act demonstrated Milo's commitment to the Gold Saints' integrity alongside an acceptance of redemption. Milo later confronted the specter-possessed Gemini Saga, Aquarius Camus, and Capricorn Shura at Virgo Shaka's temple. After they killed Shaka using the forbidden Athena Exclamation, Milo retaliated with fourteen Scarlet Needles against each. When they prepared to use Athena Exclamation again, Milo joined Mu and Aiolia to counter with their own, resulting in a destructive stalemate. Emotional conflict arose, particularly regarding his historically close friend Camus; seeing Camus serve Hades visibly affected Milo, culminating in anguish when Athena subsequently died by suicide. Accompanying Mu and Aiolia to Hades' castle, Milo faced Wyvern Rhadamanthys. Within the castle, which suppressed their powers to one-tenth, all three Gold Saints were overwhelmed and defeated by Rhadamanthys' Greatest Caution technique, cast into Cocytos. Later revived by Athena's cosmos, Milo participated in the assault on the Wailing Wall, wielding a Libra weapon in the failed initial attempt. He ultimately joined the collective sacrifice of the twelve Gold Saints, contributing his cosmos to destroy the barrier, displaying a serene demeanor and appearing proud of his service. Earlier events further define him. During the Sanctuary arc, his battle against Cygnus Hyoga concluded with Milo acknowledging defeat after realizing Hyoga simultaneously struck his Gold Cloth's critical points. Recognizing Hyoga's determination, Milo healed him and later repaired the Cygnus Cloth with his own blood. In spin-off media like "Saint Seiya: Episode G," a younger Milo displays more aggressive traits, including resentment toward Leo Aiolia, but matures through conflicts like his battle against the Titan Cronos. In "Saint Seiya: Saintia Shō," set before the main events, he undertakes missions for the Pope, saving Equuleus Shō and combating threats like the goddess Eris and her followers. His deep friendship with Aquarius Camus, highlighted across manga and anime, informs Milo's protective stance toward Camus' pupil, Hyoga. The emotional weight of confronting Camus under Hades' control during the Hades arc underscores the personal toll of their conflict.
