Andromeda Shun embodies the Bronze Saint of the Andromeda constellation. Younger brother to Phoenix Ikki, he distinguishes himself among the Saints through a gentle, deeply pacifist nature, firmly believing conflicts should resolve peacefully and fighting only when essential. Despite this reluctance, he wields immense power, ranking among the strongest Bronze Saints. His appearance features feminine facial features, complemented by rose-gold armor and chains tied to his constellation's myth – the very chains that bound Princess Andromeda. These chains extend light years, detect threats, and unleash electric shocks exceeding 10,000 volts. Shun harnesses the power of the Cosmos, granting superhuman strength, speed, agility, durability, and healing. His signature techniques revolve around manipulating his chains: the **Nebula Chain** for offensive binding and slicing, **Thunder Wave** for zigzagging electrical strikes, the **Rolling Defense** or **Circle Defense** for barrier creation, and the **Nebula Storm** for cosmic entanglement and paralysis. His role becomes pivotal during the Hades Chapter upon the revelation that he is Hades's chosen human vessel. After Lyra Orphée's death, Hades possesses Shun's body within the Underworld throne room. Initially unaware, Shun later regains partial control and desperately attempts to strangle himself, urging Ikki to destroy his body to stop Hades. Ikki's hesitation allows Hades to regain full dominance and overpower him. Ultimately, Athena's blood and encouragement empower Shun to expel Hades permanently. Freed, Shun dons the Andromeda Cloth once more, joining the battle in Elysion where he and the other Bronze Saints aid Athena in defeating Hades. Beyond this, Shun appears in other continuations. In *Next Dimension*, he is designated the future Virgo Gold Saint. He travels back to the 18th century alongside Athena, allies with Pegasus Tenma, and ascends the Twelve Temples to protect her. In *Saint Seiya Omega*, Shun sustains a "dark wound" during a conflict with Mars, sealing his Cosmo and preventing him from using his cloth without fatal risk. He becomes a wandering doctor, aiding new protagonists like Pegasus Kōga. Despite this injury, he temporarily reignites his Cosmo to confront threats such as Silver Saint Hound Miguel and later participates in battles against Pallas and Saturn, employing strategic chain techniques and supporting younger Saints. Shun's development underscores his unwavering pacifism juxtaposed with formidable battle prowess when protecting others. His journey encompasses overcoming divine possession, adapting to severe physical limitations, and mentoring future generations, all while steadfastly maintaining his core belief in non-violence.
