Masaki Murakami, a 29-year-old freelance journalist, stumbled upon the clandestine organization Chronos while investigating in New Guinea. After Zoanoids—genetically engineered creatures—slaughtered his team, he was captured and taken to Chronos’ Arizona facility. Subjected to experiments to forge a Proto-Zoalord form for council member Richard Guyot, Masaki gained heightened physical prowess and gravity manipulation, though his lifespan dwindled rapidly when activating his battle form. His former mentor, Professor Shinichiro Yamamura, covertly aided him during captivity, sparking a rebellion to assassinate Guyot. The uprising collapsed under the Zoalord Council’s intervention, leaving Masaki as the sole escapee. Returning to Japan, he covertly opposed Chronos under his reporter guise, his incomplete enhancements forcing urgent alliances with the Guyvers, including Sho Fukamachi. Masaki guided Sho, exposing Chronos’ global dominance and assisting in infiltrating their Mt. Minakami stronghold. His Zoanoid-detection ability and customized firearm proved vital in combat, yet each use of his Proto-Zoalord form hastened his decline. A clash with Guyot shattered his dummy Zoacrystal, inflicting fatal wounds that left him in a deathlike stasis. Resurrected by Chronos’ supreme leader Archanfel using Guyot’s Zoacrystal, Masaki was reborn as Imakarum Mirabilis, a full Zoalord stripped of autonomy. Imakarum retained Masaki’s memories but embraced unwavering allegiance to Archanfel, confronting Sho and Agito Makishima during their Cloud Gate assault. Empowered with flight and amplified gravity control, he nearly fell in battle until Archanfel intervened. Once a defiant insurgent, Imakarum’s existence underscored the erasure of free will under Chronos. His clashes with Sho wove threads of betrayal, exploiting their past bond to gain tactical advantage. Fleeting glimmers of his former self emerged—a murmured regret mid-combat, swiftly quashed by reprogrammed loyalty—hinting at the fractured identity beneath his Zoalord facade.
