Description
Sir Nylon operates as a secondary antagonist, initially functioning as Duke Duralumin’s primary enforcer. Tall and lanky, his foppish appearance features a prominent elongated nose, consistently accentuated in media portrayals. Tasked with orchestrating schemes to undermine Princess Sapphire and secure the throne for Duralumin’s son, Plastic, his repeated incompetence sabotages these plans, provoking relentless verbal and physical reprisals from the Duke.

The 1953 manga frames him as a cunning yet inept henchman, proficient yet outmatched by Sapphire in swordsmanship. Despite Duralumin’s death, he obsessively pursues her assassination, motivated by fractured loyalty and survival instincts. A 1960s adaptation escalates his ruthlessness: after fatally wounding Sapphire and Plastic, he indirectly triggers Duralumin’s suicidal despair, yet continues his destructive path undeterred.

The anime adaptation chronicles his unraveling psyche under sustained abuse. Following a coup where he murders Duralumin and temporarily claims Silverland’s throne, he becomes a pawn for the proto-fascist Mr. X. His deteriorating sanity manifests in frenzied rampages through the castle, ending abruptly when he perishes in its catastrophic collapse.

External media sporadically recasts him in peripheral heroic roles, such as an Earth Defense Force member in unrelated tales. Within the *Princess Knight* canon, his trajectory remains fixed: a tragic pawn whose flawed loyalty and ambition crumble beneath ineptitude and psychological collapse, underscoring themes of manipulated ambition’s destructive fallout.
