Kakeru stars as the main hero in the anime series *Saru Get You ~On Air~* and its sequel *Saru Get You ~On Air~ 2nd*. An energetic fourth-grade elementary school student, his mission is to recapture escaped Pipo Monkeys using specialized gadgets like the Get Net. He collaborates with the Professor, Hiroki, and Natsumi to counter Specter, an intelligent monkey who controls others with helmets and attempts to alter history.

Kakeru possesses a competitive yet good-natured personality, often engaging in friendly rivalry with his classmate Hiroki. He shows strong determination in pursuing monkeys and confronting threats, though his simple-minded approach can sometimes annoy others. He strongly dislikes schoolwork but responds to food rewards. A notable weakness is his tendency toward literal thinking, contrasting with his allies' more strategic methods.

He deeply admires Haruka, a Hi-Tech Robot Battle champion. In one instance, he waited all day for her autograph but had to leave for a mission. Observing his disappointment, Haruka personally signed his shirt, forging a lasting friendship. Kakeru now assists her without hesitation whenever needed.

He demonstrates genuine compassion, crying when he mistakenly believed a baby ape died after falling off a cliff. This event revealed his caring nature, though it was later exposed as a trap set by Specter.

In the second season, Kakeru's appearance updates to a more mature design featuring a white hoodie with red accents, light blue jeans, and goggles on his head. The antagonists become the Neo Pipotrons, who exploit Specter's DNA to create mutant forces, leading Kakeru to ultimately collaborate with Specter against this new threat.

His primary gadgets are the Stun Club for close-range attacks and the Get Net for capturing monkeys. While resourceful with these tools, his straightforward mindset can create challenges in complex situations. His commitment to protecting others and correcting disruptions across time periods remains constant throughout both seasons.
