Description
Jemmy J. Adams, universally called J.J., serves as a detective at the 27th Precinct and was once Dee Laytner's classmate at the police academy. Renowned as an expert marksman within the precinct, his shooting skills are surpassed only by Ryo Maclean. J.J. typically displays a lighthearted demeanor, reserving his serious side for rare occasions. He harbors an overt and persistent romantic obsession with Dee, constantly attempting to win his affection despite Dee's consistent lack of interest. J.J. maintains an optimistic worldview, firmly believing in people's inherent goodness—a trait that contrasts with his otherwise keen perception. Throughout the series, his romantic focus shifts significantly: initially fixated solely on Dee, J.J. eventually redirects his attentions toward fellow detective Drake, developing genuine feelings for him. His character arc navigates this transition in affections while he continues his duties within the police unit. J.J. interacts regularly with other main characters, including Dee, Ryo, and Drake, within the precinct's professional environment. By the sequel series "Fake Second Season," his evolving relationship with Drake becomes a more prominent element of his character development.
