Description
Admiral Valsey served as one of Emperor Zwordar's most trusted and formidable battle fleet commanders in the White Comet Empire. He commanded the Empire's main warfleet stationed at Procyon and Sirius, which the Yamato did not encounter during its initial journey to Telezart. As the Comet Empire advanced toward Earth's galaxy, Valsey's fleet spearheaded the Solar System assault, decisively routing Earth's defenses and nearly securing an invasion victory. This success relied heavily on his flagship Medaluza's primary weapon, the Flame Direct-hit Gun—an exceptionally powerful wave motion cannon that fired energy bursts into a teleportation field.

During the Battle of Saturn, Valsey gained the upper hand by intercepting and destroying repositioning Earth forces, including the Hyperion Fleet and its flagship. Displaying characteristic arrogance, he taunted Earth's resistance and lured their fleet into close range to maximize the Medaluza's destructive power. Commander Ryu Hijikata of the Earth flagship Andromeda then outmaneuvered Valsey, drawing his fleet into Saturn's rings. Confined by debris, the Flame Direct-hit Gun became a liability. Earth forces exploited this weakness, reorganizing to annihilate Valsey's fleet in a decisive counterattack.

Facing imminent defeat with no escape, Valsey refused retreat, knowing Emperor Zwordar would punish failure severely. He ordered the crippled Medaluza on a kamikaze ramming maneuver against the Andromeda. Earth forces concentrated overwhelming firepower, destroying the flagship before impact. As flames engulfed the Medaluza, Valsey collapsed, begging the Emperor's forgiveness for his failure.

Valsey demonstrated extreme loyalty to Zwordar throughout his command. His personality combined arrogance and overconfidence, underestimating Earth's tactical adaptability. He consistently refused to consider retreat, preferring death or a destructive final stand over enduring defeat.

In the Star Blazers 2202 remake continuity, Valsey appears as an admiral of Gatlantis (the Comet Empire's counterpart), commanding the flagship *Valsey* and maintaining his role as a significant military leader.
