Description
Soldat J, officially designated Soldato J-002, originated as a combat cyborg developed by Abel, leader of the Red Planet. Created for the Soldato Division to command the Ark Armada against the Z-Master's mechanization threat, he witnessed the Red Planet's fall despite extensive preparations, caused by the failure to unite the Soldato units, bioweapon Arma, living computer Tomoro, and J-Ark battleships. As one of only two surviving Soldato members, he confronted Arm Primeval alone but was defeated and forced into the wastelands. Captured by his own living computer, he was transformed into the Zonderian Pinchernone and mechanized into the Zonderian Pizza, with his memories sealed.

Serving as Pizza under Zonderian terminal Pasder during the Earth invasion, he became obsessed with speed and claimed superiority over rival Guy Shishioh, frequently clashing with GGG forces. During a critical Tokyo battle, he defied Pasder to protect Guy from a lethal attack, sustaining critical injuries. This defiance led to his purification by Arma, who had adopted the human identity of Ikumi Kaidou, restoring Soldat J's original form and memories while purifying Pinchernone.

Restored, Soldat J dedicated himself to his original mission: destroying the Z-Master. Reuniting with his J-Ark battleship, which had crashed into Mount Aso, Japan, he launched an independent campaign against the 31 Machine Primevals. His efforts often conflicted with GGG, though they formed a grudging alliance against the common threat. During this period, he confronted and destroyed the other surviving Soldato, J-019, who had pledged loyalty to the Z-Master and replaced his J-Jewel with a Zonder crystal, as detailed in the manga "Wings of Light and Darkness".

In the final battle against the Z-Master, Soldat J and Kaidou infiltrated Heart Primeval, triggering the J-Ark's Power to overload and destroy the Z-Master from within. This sacrifice critically damaged King J-Der, but the J-Ark survived, emerging 90 million light-years outside the universe through a wormhole. Detecting universal contraction, the J-Ark returned to Jupiter's orbit, encountering Mamoru Amami and the Pas-Q Machine. While Kaidou returned to Earth with the device, Soldat J retreated to the Tri-Star System with Mamoru.

During the conflict with the 11 Planetary Masters of Sol, Soldat J and the J-Ark were captured and imprisoned on a replica Earth. Freed by Renais Kerdif-Shishioh and Mikoto Utsugi, he faced Palus Abel, who had captured Kaidou and used him as Pia Decem Pit's core. A clash between J-Quath and Goldion Hammer destroyed both weapons, and Palus Abel remotely deactivated Soldat J's J-Jewel. Recaptured, he escaped when proximity to Renais' G-Stone reactivated both their Hyper Modes, partially breaking his helmet – the sole instance his eyes were visible. He then spearheaded the assault on Palus Abel aboard Pia Decem Pit.

Soldat J's physical appearance features a birdlike helmet or facemask in his Zonderian Pizza form; in human disguise, his eyes remain obscured under a baseball cap and upswept hair. His abilities center on extreme speed and the J-Jewel enabling Hyper Mode activation. His signature weapon is the Radiant Ripper, a plasma sword generated from his hands. Conceptually, he serves as a homage to Cyborg 002 from Cyborg 009, sharing similar designs, numbering, and flight capabilities.
