TV-Series
Description
Hana Hatsuno is a childhood friend of Mamoru Amami who grows from a supporting civilian character into a fully-fledged member of the Gutsy Global Guard. Her personality is defined by a light-hearted, bubbly, and fun-loving nature, though she is also extremely clumsy and has an unfortunate tendency to be knocked unconscious during dangerous encounters. To cope with mental stress, she nearly compulsively repeats the phrase I am not scared, a mantra first taught to her by Mamoru himself.

In the original television series, Hana is initially unaware of Mamoru secret involvement with the Zonder invasion. This changes when she is captured by Intestine Primeval alongside other children, during which she witnesses Mamoru in his Latio form. For a time, she worries that the real Mamoru has been replaced by an alien, but she is relieved to discover the truth and becomes a steadfast supporter of him. The other children soon tease Hana and Mamoru, declaring that the two should get married. In the series epilogue, she comes to bid Mamoru farewell wearing a wedding dress, and the two share a kiss before he departs with Galeon.

Hana role expands significantly in King of Braves GaoGaiGar FINAL, where she is the first character introduced. She is seen taking a litter of puppies for a walk when she finds the wounded Ikumi Kaidou, known as Arma, engaged in combat with a Repli-Mamoru. Despite the battle causing heavy destruction, Hana and her dogs are unharmed, and she takes the unconscious Kaidou back to her home to question him about Mamoru actions and whereabouts. As the crisis on Earth worsens due to events unfolding in the Trinary Solar System, Hana remains determined to see Mamoru again, a wish that is fulfilled in the finale when she stands beside him and Kaidou at a memorial honoring the missing GGG members.

In the subsequent story The King of Kings ~GaoGaiGar Vs. Betterman~, set ten years later, Hana becomes a fully-pledged member of the Gutsy Global Guard, serving as the operator of the super robot GaoGaiGo alongside Mamoru and Ikumi. In her new role, she is initially nervous and panicky, but she adapts by developing a distinctive double-fist button-smashing technique to activate the Final Fusion Program Drive. Her relationship with Mamoru deepens into marriage, and she eventually becomes pregnant, a condition initially mistaken for symptoms of a Zonuda transformation. By the story conclusion, she and Mamoru welcome a child named Tsubasa. Hana also shares a close bond with her cousin Ayame Hatsuno, who often unintentionally drags her into perilous situations. Her friendships with Ikumi Kaidou and Sueo Ushiyama endure from childhood into their shared service with the GGG program. Among her notable quirks is her distinctive uniform operation style, and she demonstrates increasing competence over time, such as coordinating the Goldion Armor launch in sync with others.
