OVA
Description
Rowen Hashiba, also known as Touma Hashiba, possesses an IQ of 250, serving as the group's primary strategist and intellectual counterbalance to more impulsive members. A descendant of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, his family line was nearly eradicated during the Tokugawa era. His parents divorced when he was twelve; his father, Genichirou, is a physics and astronomy professor in Kyoto, while his mother works internationally as a journalist. Rowen lives with his father but maintains an unconventional, friendship-like bond with both parents, as his mother retains access to their apartment for sporadic visits.

Physically, Rowen has blue hair and green eyes. Initially standing at 165 cm (5'4.9") and weighing 55 kg (121 lbs), he grows to 178 cm (5'10") and 66 kg (145 lbs) by the events of *Message*. His attire varies: the TV series features a royal blue sweater with a bright green collar, jeans, dark shoes, and often a blue headband. *Gaiden* shows him in a white cap, a white shirt under a blue and red sweater, and blue jeans. *Legend of the Inferno Armor* presents a white sweater with dark blue diamonds over a red shirt and red pants. In *Message*, he wears a white shirt, green jacket, light brown pants, blue scarf, and dark shoes.

Personality-wise, Rowen displays calm analysis under pressure, though intense emotions can trigger uncharacteristic volatility. His intellectual pursuits encompass reading detective stories, playing go and chess, solving puzzles, and engaging with computer games. He enjoys baseball, supporting the Hanshin team while disliking rivals like Kyodai. Rowen contends with low blood pressure and chronic late-night studying, making early rising difficult; he considers 11 a.m. an early start. He shares Kento’s capacity for large meals and possesses a pronounced sweet tooth, though he discusses food less frequently.

His early history involved discovering the Strata armor through family research. Investigating his lineage uncovered armor references; with his mother’s help, he located it at his paternal grandfather's shrine in Amanohashidate, where he first met Kento, staying there as a foreign student.

During the war against Talpa, Rowen debuted by saving Ryo from a Dynasty soldier. After Talpa's magic scattered the Ronin Warriors, his armor's connection to air left him semi-conscious in outer space, making retrieval the most challenging. Ryo guided him back to Earth, though Rowen retained no memory. He later played a critical role against Anubis, shattering the warlord's helmet to reveal his human identity. Rowen and Cye were among the first captured in the final battle against Talpa, their armors absorbed until Ryo freed them using the Inferno armor.

In *Gaiden*, Rowen traveled to New York investigating Sage’s disappearance. He discovered a murdered photographer linked to the case and was falsely accused of the crime by Runa, the victim’s sister. After clearing the misunderstanding, Runa aided Rowen and the others in tracking Sage to Los Angeles. Rowen temporarily freed Sage, though all five warriors were later captured by Shikaisen before ultimately defeating him.

For *Legend of the Inferno Armor*, Rowen joined Ryo and Sage in battling Mukala but was overwhelmed without the full team. No significant character development occurred for him in this arc.

In *Message*, Rowen discovered a 300-year-old book chronicling the Ronin Warriors’ history and encountered the spirit Suzunagi. His subsequent disappearance prompted the others to investigate Suzunagi and locate him. During this arc, he acquired a new suit of armor.

Rowen’s armor, Tenku (Strata), draws power from air and embodies the virtue of Inochi (Life). Its primary weapon is a collapsible bow with an unlimited quiver. His surekill technique, Arrow Shockwave ("Shinku Ha"), fires an arrow releasing a destructive pillar of light upon impact, capable of demolishing large terrain sections. The armor underwent an upgrade in *Message*.

His relationships with the other Ronin Warriors represent his first genuine friendships. He shares particularly close bonds with Sage due to shared intellectual pursuits and with Kento following their initial meeting. Rowen’s loyalty drives him to protect his friends at all costs, a recurring motivator across all story arcs.
