Originally a Decepticon, Cyclonus aligned with the Autobots after Unicron's defeat and Galvatron's demise. A decade later, he guarded a lunar base on Earth's moon. The Decepticon Scorponok then recruited him for a mission to resurrect Megatron. Cyclonus agreed and helped convince his former comrade Demolishor to rejoin the resurgent Decepticons under Megatron. After suffering major battle damage, Megatron oversaw an extensive physical upgrade for Cyclonus, granting him a new snowcat vehicle alternate mode. This upgrade coincided with adopting the identity "Snow Cat," though his core personality—loyalty to Megatron and enjoyment of combat—remained. When Megatron flew into a Super Energon sun to destroy Unicron, Cyclonus (as Snow Cat) and Demolishor chose not to follow. They were last seen drifting in space, contemplating an uncertain future. In the Dreamwave comic continuity, Cyclonus was depicted guarding a base years after the Unicron conflict, written distinctly from his Snow Cat identity as a separate character.
