Alexis Thi Dang first appeared prominently in *Transformers: Armada* as a human caught in the Autobot-Decepticon war over Mini-Cons alongside friends Rad White and Carlos Lopez. An opinionated, headstrong 11-year-old aspiring to become President to solve global issues like environmental protection and world hunger, she bonded significantly with the Mini-Con Sureshock. She forged an especially close, protective relationship with the turncoat Decepticon Starscream, symbolized by a necklace made from a green rock he brought her from Mars; this necklace later cracked upon his heroic death battling Unicron.
A decade later during *Transformers: Energon*, Alexis emerged as a young adult activist, traveling globally to protest corporate misuse of Earth's resources, specifically targeting entities like Alterenergy. Her activism brought her to Australia, where she intervened in a Terrorcon attack on an Alterenergy site, saving teenager Kicker Jones by shooting Battle Ravage with a flare gun. Captured by Scorponok, she was subsequently rescued by Rad (now an Alterenergy employee) and Carlos, reigniting her direct involvement in the Transformer conflict.
Alexis transitioned into a diplomatic role as a liaison between the Earth Federation and the united Cybertronian forces (Autobots and Decepticons). She delivered the Federation’s declaration of neutrality regarding the Energon conflict to Optimus Prime in Ocean City, maintaining her personal trust in his leadership despite Earth's official stance. Her duties expanded to coordinating humanitarian efforts, including a U.N. task force to locate a missing Kicker.
Her personal relationships evolved complexly. While maintaining lifelong connections to Rad and Carlos, tensions arose with Rad over her nomadic activism contrasting with his settled career. They reconciled after a Terrorcon attack in Los Angeles, where Rad, believing her dead in an explosion, emotionally embraced her upon finding her safe.
The legacy of her bond with Starscream resurfaced tragically. After Starscream was partially revived by Energon and later fully restored using Super Energon (adopting his *Cybertron* appearance), he regained his memories and sought her out. Distraught over Megatron’s betrayal and his own suffering, he rejected her attempts at comfort. Consumed by anger, he destroyed a Cybertron City on Earth, severing the human-Cybertronian alliance and cementing his path as a vengeful loner. Though her Mars pendant shattered during this period, Alexis kept the fragments for life.
Her character arc concluded with continued diplomatic service. By 2030, she held a position close to the U.S. President, appearing alongside him during the appointment of Earth’s ambassador to Cybertron and later bidding farewell to the departing Autobots.
