Description
Poppu Harukaze is Doremi Harukaze's younger sister, beginning as a kindergarten student who later enrolls at Misora First Elementary School. She possesses light skin, round mulberry eyes with a red tint, and distinctive pink hair arranged in wing-shaped pigtails with loose strands at the nape. Her early wardrobe includes a light pink and white smock over a red skirt with light pink shoes, transitioning in later seasons to a light cyan blouse, skirt, and coordinating sneakers.

Initially displaying condescension and spite toward Doremi due to feelings of inferiority, Pop perceives her sister as inept yet envies Doremi's friendships and exclusive piano lessons with their mother. Despite this resentment, Pop exhibits unusual maturity and responsibility, earning admiration from peers and adults. She demonstrates charisma, persuasiveness, and protective kindness toward friends, though occasional childish impulsiveness surfaces when tackling tasks beyond her age. Her dynamic with Doremi shifts from rivalry to mutual respect and protectiveness after confronting shared insecurities.

Pop accidentally discovers Doremi, Hazuki, and Aiko using magic at Maho-do, becoming the fourth witch apprentice. As the red witch apprentice, her fairy partner is Fafa, and her crystal ball takes the form of a red clover. Though initially more adept at magic than Doremi, her progress slows due to age-related limitations like falling asleep during witch exams. Her spells include the transformation chant "Pretty Witch Pop-cchi!" and the primary incantation "Pipitto Puritto Puritan Peperuto!"

Her childhood admiration for Doremi soured when Doremi rejected her over jealousy for parental attention, fueling Pop's bitterness. This evolves across the series into a supportive bond where both sisters acknowledge each other's strengths. Key relationships include her evolving sisterhood with Doremi, progressing from arguments to deep loyalty and viewing Doremi as a role model; mutual respect with Onpu Segawa, for whom Pop sacrifices her magic during Onpu's coma; closeness with Hana-chan despite occasional annoyance at Hana's magical growth, later revealing mutual envy in the OVA *Na-i-sho*; Aiko Senoo's teasing comparisons of Pop's maturity to Doremi's demeanor; and Momoko Asuka mentoring Pop in baking at Maho-do.

In the light novel sequel *Ojamajo Doremi 16*, Pop is a sixth-grader taught by Seki, aiming to attend Karen Girls Academy to pursue piano. Her appearance features a thinner frame and smaller hair "wings," often depicted in her school uniform. While maintaining her bond with Doremi, she frequently teases her and focuses intently on academics and future goals, highlighting her ongoing dedication to music and personal development.
