Description
The Witch Queen reigns as sovereign ruler of the Witch World, overseeing its governance while maintaining equilibrium between magical and human realms. Her role gains urgency when Doremi and her friends witness the birth of Hana, a magical infant destined to become the next queen candidate. Adhering to Witch World law, she reinstates the girls as witch apprentices, charging them with safeguarding Hana’s development over a year and shielding her from external threats like the Wizard World’s encroachment.

When Majo Tourbillon, the previous ruler trapped in a cursed slumber after losing her human family, resurfaces as a latent threat, the Queen confronts the peril of her lingering magic. To neutralize this danger, she guides the girls in recreating handmade gifts from Tourbillon’s grandchildren, aiming to revive the fallen ruler’s memories and dismantle the curse endangering both worlds. Their quest intertwines emotional and magical trials, ultimately leading to Tourbillon’s awakening and reconciliation.

Balancing pragmatism with compassion, the Queen permits the protagonists to retain their humanity despite opportunities to ascend as full witches, honoring their choice to value personal growth and relationships over extended magical lifespans. Her decisions reveal a keen understanding of mortal emotions, exemplified when she allows Hana to temporarily age into a sixth grader to attend school with Doremi—a concession made despite risks to the young candidate’s magical stability.

In spin-off light novels set years after the anime, her influence endures as the protagonists navigate adulthood while reengaging with the Witch World. Her duties expand to address emerging crises, including the emergence of Hana’s twin sister, though these events remain entwined with broader narrative threads.

The Queen’s origins remain shrouded in mystery, her authority anchored in tradition and necessity. She upholds strict magical laws while permitting flexibility to nurture human connections, consistently prioritizing the welfare of both realms—even when doing so demands sacrifices from those under her guidance.
