Description
Elephant, formally named Elephant 55th, rules Mariland alongside his wife, Queen Rumi. His governance fractures during "Sukkiri♪" when Baku accidentally releases stored black notes across Mariland and the human world. This triggers a high-court trial that removes Elephant from the throne for incompetence and negligence in safeguarding the kingdom. The trial initiates a succession process; though elected, Rumi expresses confusion over her victory and later nominates My Melody and Kuromi as alternative rulers. After resolving the black note crisis, Elephant retires, leading to Rumi’s ascension as sole monarch.
Beyond rulership, Elephant exhibits a recurring romantic fixation on Kanade Yumeno, Uta Yumeno’s older sister, which provokes jealous lightning strikes from Rumi. Despite his frivolous and comical demeanor, he holds latent wisdom and detects magical threats like the Spirit of Dark Power. His possessiveness toward Rumi is mirrored by her fierce protectiveness; she reacts violently to perceived infidelity, such as discovering his Haruka-chan videotape collection, threatening divorce and departure.
Elephant’s background includes a close history with My Melody’s mother and a past as legendary leader of the Mariland Ladies biker gang under the alias "Rumi of Black Glasses," wielding the "Gunfly" weapon. He accesses human-world pop culture through an Earth-broadcasting television, incorporating references into his behavior. He enjoys recreational activities like golfing with Rumi.
