Initially brash and abrasive, she openly scorns her enemies, especially the Red Dragon Clan. This hostility culminates in her interrupting Laika's sister's wedding alongside other blue dragons, though she is defeated.

Provat Pecora Allières's mischief leads Azusa to accidentally touch Flatorte's horn, invoking the Blue Dragon Tribe's oath of absolute obedience and binding Flatorte as Azusa's servant. Learning the oath demands total submission, even to death, Azusa exploits a loophole. She commands Flatorte only to live according to her own desires, freeing her from tribal traditions. This profound kindness compels Flatorte to willingly obey and join Azusa's household.

Living with Azusa softens Flatorte's demeanor while retaining her blunt honesty and disregard for subtlety, such as openly criticizing an artist's gloomy painting despite discomfort.
