Description
Melonpanna, a core hero in Anpanman's team, originates from melon bread baked using the nectar of a love flower. Her form features large green eyes, a small green nose, orange hollow diamonds on her cheeks, and three diagonal crossing lines. She wears a uniform combining dark green with light green accents on her belt, gloves, shoes, and cape, the latter revealing orange underneath. A cursive "m" insignia appears on both her dress and chest. Her stature is shorter than some allies yet taller than Akachanman and Creampanda.

Kind, gentle, and sensitive define her personality, though she demonstrates cleverness at times. A profound bond with her older sister, Rollpanna, whom she addresses directly as "sister," is central; she deeply misses her due to infrequent meetings, occasionally feeling lonely. While non-confrontational and disliking combat, she will employ her powers to assist others. She sometimes requires rescue by allies like Anpanman in dire situations.

Her primary ability, the Melo-Melo Punch, induces temporary paralysis through affection or dispels deep sleep without harm. A secondary power, Melo-Melo Juice, produces drips of melon juice from her head; this juice counteracts Baikinman's "blackening" effect on allies, though its efficacy lessens if Rollpanna's good heart power falters. Like other core bread heroes, she can fly. She depends on melon juice as an energy source, weakening or fainting if depleted. A key vulnerability arises if Rollpanna transforms under evil influence, suppressing Melonpanna's sense of self.

Relationships shape her story: Anpanman is an ally, capable of calming her distress; she treats Creampanda affectionately like a younger brother. Her creator is Uncle Jam. She connects with other heroes like Shokupanman and Currypanman within the team and enjoys spending time with the dog companion, Cheese. The musical theme "Panna no Punch" (パンナのパンチ) is associated with her.

Within the movie "Soreike! Anpanman: Black Nose to Mahō no Uta," Melonpanna appears as part of the ensemble cast, contributing her established traits and abilities to the story involving the Black Nose and the magical song.
