Description
Melonpanna emerges as a major heroic figure born from melon bread, defined by her inherently sweet and kind-hearted disposition. Her head mirrors melon bread with a distinct criss-cross cookie dough pattern, complemented by large green eyes, a small green nose, and two small orange hollow diamonds on her cheeks. She dons a dark green uniform with a light green belt, gloves, and boots, along with a cape featuring green on top and orange underneath.

Uncle Jam created her in response to Melonpanna’s wish for an older sister, but Baikinman sabotaged the process by adding an evil baikin plant to the Flower of Pure Heart. This act resulted in Rollpanna’s birth with dual hearts—one good, one evil—forging their intricate sibling dynamic. Melonpanna’s personality radiates gentleness and empathy, occasionally revealing cleverness. Her defining trait is an intense devotion to Rollpanna, manifesting as persistent longing during separations and jealousy toward others interacting with her sister. This devotion drives her constant pursuit of Rollpanna, influencing narrative tensions like Rollpanna’s self-isolation to shield others from her evil heart. Melonpanna also nurtures younger characters, treating Creampanda as a foster brother.

Her abilities include the "Melo-Melo Punch," which incapacitates foes or awakens allies by inducing euphoria or affection, and producing "Melo-Melo Juice" from her head to reverse Baikinman’s corruption on allies—though its power wanes if Rollpanna’s good heart is suppressed. Like fellow heroes, she flies using her cape.

Relationships anchor her arc: she regards Anpanman as an adoptive older brother, reflecting their familial bond. Her bond with Rollpanna remains central, often serving as the emotional catalyst to restore Rollpanna’s good heart during conflicts, such as in the 1995 film involving a ghost ship and a horse named Marin. Across media, including educational specials, she appears alongside Creampanda as learning companions under Anpanman’s guidance, reinforcing her role as both nurturer and youthful figure within the hero team.
