Description
HyoRyu, also written as HyouRyuu, is a Super-AI Vehicle Machine operated by the Gutsy Galaxy Guard (GGG) with the model number GBR-2. As one of the first mobile units created by the organization, he was constructed alongside his younger twin brother, EnRyu. HyoRyu's name translates to Ice Dragon, a direct reflection of both his primary abilities and his fundamental nature. In terms of physical design, his vehicle form is a mobile crane, and in robot mode, this crane becomes his signature power crane, which serves as a multi-purpose tool and weapon.
Personality serves as a defining characteristic that distinguishes HyoRyu from his brother. While both share the same artificial intelligence core and training, HyoRyu possesses a calm, collected, and calculating demeanor. This icy disposition aligns perfectly with his cryogenic powers and his name. His personality often leads to friendly bickering with EnRyu, whose temperament is significantly more hot-blooded and flamboyant. In a moment of commentary, HyoRyu once suggested that his brother's heated nature results from an overloading heater, to which EnRyu retorted that HyoRyu's cooling systems have chilled his heart as well. This dynamic creates a classic fire-and-ice relationship between the twins, making them an effective but occasionally argumentative team.
HyoRyu's motivations are intrinsically tied to his programming as a GGG operative and his bond with his brother. As a Brave robot, he is dedicated to protecting Earth from various threats, including the Zonders and later the 31 Machine Primevals. His role in the story is primarily as a support unit and a crucial component for more powerful combinations. While capable of fighting independently, his true value often emerges when he combines with other robots. When performing Symmetrical Docking with EnRyu, the two form the larger, more powerful robot ChoRyuJin. Additionally, when utilizing a power source known as THE POWER, HyoRyu can perform Cross-Symmetrical Docking with RaiRyu to form GenRyuJin.

Despite their opposing personalities and occasional arguments, they function as a cohesive unit and demonstrate remarkable synergy in combat. Even though they are twins, HyoRyu is established as being two seconds older than EnRyu, making him the elder brother. Their ultimate technique, the Supernova, requires absolute synchronization, unleashing their full power in tandem when their chest controls are dialed to Level Infinity.
Regarding his development throughout the series, HyoRyu initially struggled with performing System Change, the ability to switch between vehicle and robot modes. However, after the character Mamoru Amami boosted his G-Stone's power to 200 percent, HyoRyu overcame this limitation and could transform without difficulty. Furthermore, following the initial attack by the Machine Primevals, HyoRyu received retrofits that upgraded his weaponry, allowing him to fire Ul-Tech beams instead of simple freezing rays from his rifle and gun. When charged with THE POWER, his weapons instead fire bolts of this mysterious energy.
