TV-Series
Description
EnRyu, designated G.B.R.-03, is a Brave robot developed by the Gutsy Galaxy Guard within their Super-AI Vehicle Machine series. Activated at 14:25:16 on an unspecified day in 2004, he is the younger sibling of HyoRyu by five seconds. Sharing the same base AI system, EnRyu exhibits opposing personality traits reflective of his elemental motif. His name, translating to "Flame Dragon," aligns with his fire-based abilities and brash, headstrong demeanor, frequently causing disagreements with his calmer, ice-themed brother.
Initial technological limitations prevented EnRyu from performing a "System Change" transformation between vehicle and robot modes. This changed during the Primeval EI-06 assault when heightened emotions from Mamoru Amami boosted his G-S Ride's power, enabling transformation. His first successful robot-mode deployment assisted in slowing EI-06, facilitating GaoGaiGar's victory and minimizing collateral damage.
In vehicle mode, EnRyu is an 18.5-meter-long fire truck equipped with a variable ladder. His robot mode stands 20.5 meters tall, weighs 240 tons (plus 25 tons for his shield), and utilizes a rear jump thruster for mobility. Key armaments include the Chest Warmer chest-mounted flamethrower, the handheld Melting Gun (later upgraded to fire Ul-Tech beams after Primeval encounters), and the Mirror Shield coated in energy-reflective material. His signature Power Ladder functions as an extendable rescue tool, a mounting platform for the Melting Rifle (later Ul-Tech Rifle), and a detachable Tonfa for close combat. An optional Pencil Launcher fires specialized ammunition like stiffening gel for tactical support.
A recurring operational quirk involves EnRyu's difficulty executing proper landings after aerial deployment, attributed to his construction or the Mirror Shield's weight. This issue resolves through experience, culminating in FINAL where he successfully saves a falling elevator during a crash landing.
EnRyu participates in battles against threats like the Zonderians and BioNet. He frequently combines with HyoRyu via "Symmetrical Docking" to form the defensive specialist ChouRyuJin when their synchronization ("SympaRate") reaches 100%. This combined entity utilizes their shared weapons and the Mirror Shield as a chestplate. Later, EnRyu combines with FuuRyu through "Cross-Symmetrical Docking" to create GouRyuJin. A notable technique developed during FINAL is "Supernova," where EnRyu and HyoRyu set their chest dials to "Infinity" to unleash simultaneous maximum-output beams, instrumental in defeating P-Vater.
His character arc emphasizes growth from initial instability to reliable teamwork, particularly in high-stakes scenarios. Though his impulsive nature persists, it is tempered by dedication to protecting humanity alongside his sibling units throughout GGG's missions.
