This resolve honors his late mentor’s principles while rejecting warfare-centric applications.

His relationship with Sayaka remains strained by emotional detachment and a tendency to prioritize lab duties over her needs, though he intermittently reveals protective instincts, such as attempting to bar her from piloting during lethal conflicts. While acting as a surrogate guardian to Juzo’s grandsons, Koji and Shiro Kabuto, his influence remains limited—Koji often dismisses his guidance in favor of rash decisions.
