Description
Kocchi, known alternatively as Come-Come, is a stray kitten pivotal to the narrative. His name originates from the Japanese phrase for "come here," inspired by a woman calling him closer.

Visually, Kocchi presents as a small white male kitten. Distinctive black markings cover his front legs and the entire back half of his body. A prominent black patch extends over one ear and partially obscures one eye—the specific side differing between adaptations. He possesses sharp eyes and a notably short tail.

Personality-wise, Kocchi acts rough, bossy, and occasionally rude, especially during initial encounters. He maintains a tough exterior, often appearing angry or moody. Beneath this lies a softer, genuinely caring and protective nature, particularly toward Chi and his brother. Other characters, like Blackie, regard him as a hard worker. His playful side emerges when comfortable among friends.

Kocchi's background involves hardship. He and his siblings lived in a park box until siblings were gradually taken to new homes, leaving him alone and wary. He established territory around a park fountain where he first encountered Chi. Initially strained, Kocchi saw Chi as an unwanted tag-along and tried to distance himself. Their bond deepened over time, leading him to guide her, teach her about being a cat, and frequently assist her in trouble.

His brother, White-White, is central to Kocchi's story. They resided together in the park box until children took White-White away as a pet. Kocchi promised to wait for his return. Later, temporarily cared for by Miwa Yamada alongside the cat Diplo, he received food, shelter, and care but felt a profound longing for White-White. This longing drove him to leave Miwa's care. With Chi and Diplo's help, he journeyed to find White-White settled safely in a new home. Kocchi displayed protectiveness and relief, yet grappled with the pain of their permanent separation, expressing regret for taking so long to return.

Beyond Chi and White-White, Kocchi maintains friendships with Ann, the reliable boss cat Blackie (Kuroino), and Diplo, whom he finds peculiar yet admirable. His interactions with the Yamada family, especially Miwa, involve appreciation for their kindness, though his independent nature and familial bonds ultimately took precedence.

Kocchi debuted in the manga narrative. His first anime appearance was in the original video animation "Chi and Cocchi Meet" released on April 23, 2010, depicting his initial park encounter with Chi and her attempts to befriend him. He later appeared as a supporting character in the "Chi's Sweet Adventure" series and returned as part of Chi's friend circle in the Okinawa-set "Chi's Sweet Summer Vacation" season, carrying forward his established traits and relationships.

Kocchi's development traces a path from a solitary, guarded stray shaped by loss to an individual forming deep, caring bonds. His journey highlights loyalty, the complexities of found family, and the enduring connection to his biological brother despite separation.
